  • "Very cosy and extremely cute!"

Garden is a real added bonus. The only negative comment I would make is that the kitchen drain smelt a bit but that’s probably down to the hot weather

Thank you for providing us with your lovely feedback. It's fantastic to hear that you had a great stay and we appreciate you telliing us about the kitchen drain. We will make sure that this is investigated and hope to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

  • "We have just returned from a 4 night stay at October Cottage."

Whilst this is, as previously stated, a compact cottage it was perfect for myself, husband, teenager and small dog. This really is a home away from home with everything you’ll need to enjoy your stay including comfy beds, usual mod cons and and a decent sized shower with slate floors and rugs. Hilary was a delight and very helpful without compromising our privacy. We arrived to fruit cake and wine, simply perfect. The cottage is perfectly situated for surrounding walks and attractions of the Cotswolds and the canal walk via Lavender cafe for amazing cake supplies is a must. Follow the canal for a pub lunch at the Daneway Inn before the hour or so long stroll back to Chalford! Although chapel cottage rental next door was occupied it may as well have been empty and certainly didn’t affect our stay! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the charming October cottage which is a must for those seeking a perfectly chilled trip to the Cotswolds.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you loved October Cottage and were able to enjoyed your stay in the Cotswolds!. We hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "This is a very quaint little cottage for two, would be squashy for more I think."

I hadnt appreciated there was an adjacent cottage (as well as the owners part of the house), which can overlook anywhere you choose to sit outside. The main part you want to sit in, is the car parking area right in front of the cottage so if the other cottage is occupied, their cars and yours completely block your view and pleasant sitting out area. There is a very nice wooded garden away from the house. Very cosy feel, fantastic woodburner, well equipped kitchen. Nice modern bathroom. The downstairs is all slate floored so very cold and hard, bring padded slippers. Lovely walks eg along the river to the various cafes. Very steep terrain all round.Lots to visit eg Minchinhampton Common. Helpful owners. Dont follow the directions given by Sykes, Go right straight away up the no through road as soon as you enter Old Neighbourhood.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We are happy to hear that you overall enjoyed your stay, taking advantage of the beautiful walks and property. We hope that the blocked views from other cars did not distract from your retreat, as we would love to welcome you back to October cottage any time in the future. We would like to thank you once again for your feedback, and your suggestions for improvement will be taken into consideration. Property Owner

  • "We so enjoyed our stay at October Cottage in the stunning village it is set in."

The cottage was cosy and comfortable for a family of 3. The fireplace was great and well stocked with wood for us to use. The owner kindly left mince pies as a welcome snack for us. We heard the resident owl in the early hours of the morning of our departure. So beautiful to hear. We will definitely be back to enjoy another relaxing stay and more walks through the village. Highly recommended.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback on your stay at October Cottage. We are delighted to hear that you would like to return again, we hope you do! Property Owner

The cottage and surroundings are fabulous, we have had such a relaxing week. Its very hilly but the views are to die for.It was lovely lying in bed listening to the Owl's and the village is a nice stroll from the cottage. Cirencester is well worth a visit .We were going to do so much but the cottage was just to cosy we didn't venture too far. Would we stay again YES, in fact we seriously considered squatting we didn't want too leave .

  • "A beautiful cottage that was everything we’d hoped for."

Hilary was so helpful and on arrival we were met with fresh flowers, wine and cake. The cottage was immaculate and filled with lovely homey touches; art, ornaments, cosy throws and cushions. The kitchen is one of the best equipped we’ve found which matters to us as we like to cook. It’s situated in a great location, quiet but accessible to lots of great places. We loved our time at October cottage and can highly recommend it.
