  • "Calcot Peak Barn was exactly what we wanted."

A comfortable place in the middle of nowhere with amazing views. We loved the fact we had so much outdoor space. We played cricket on the grass and watched the wildlife (hares, pheasants, deer, nesting kites) by day and stargazed on the patio at night. The lack of light pollution allowed us to see the Milky Way and shooting stars. Magical. And we were near enough to civilisation to enjoy some great days out too! There were a few plumbing issues in the Barn but that did not detract from what was a truly enjoyable and relaxing stay. I felt we really managed to recharge our batteries and lay down some unique memories there and I think that is the best tribute to a holiday home there is.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback, it's also one of our favourites, you really cant beat the amazing views and just how quiet it is. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "A very nice barn conversion in an open but secluded area of farmland."

The house is along a stony track which had a small number of large water puddles caused by recent heavy rain . We had been met by the lovely Jackie at a prearranged location about 1 mile from the accommodation. The barn is as described and Jackie had left a nice welcome pack of tea , milk , butter , bread , biscuits and wine . Views on all 4 sides were good and wildlife of numerous birds and Hares appeared , plus we are certain we saw 2 wild boar one early morning. The barn is a great base for trips to Cirencester, Cheltenham, Oxford, Stratford , Bristol and of the beautiful Cotswolds villages . Thank you Jackie .

Jackie will be delighted to read your comments on Calcot Peak Barn. Property Owner

  • "Calcot Peak Barn is a very special place to stay."

It's location is stunningly beautiful. Mating pairs of pheasants and partridges entertained us on the terrace and the field beyond was full of hares. The barn itself is warm, very comfortable and extremely well kitted out. We loved the peace and tranquillity of it with fabulous walking right from the doorstep

  • "Calcot Peak Barn is a wonderful place to stay if you want beautiful rural isolation."

Situated down a private road it's surrounded by farmland and you'll have complete privacy. The barn itself was spotlessly clean and well equipped with helpful information provided. I was met by the lovely owner Jackie who was very friendly and helpful and there was a nice welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, bread, biscuits etc. The location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds and with some lovely walks on your doorstep. Also great for nature lovers as lots of birds, deer and hares on the farm. Lovely to wake up and sit out on the patio with a cup of coffee watching bunnies hop across the field - idyllic. The location is peaceful and isolated, so not the place if you want to be able to walk to a local pub or shops, but if you really want to get away from it all then this is the place to stay. I'd happily stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Calcot Peak Barn. It's lovely to hear you loved the barn as much as we do, it's so quiet and a real getaway. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

Beautiful barn which was clean and comfy and an outside space to die for. Peaceful and with so much wildlife, we saw deers, hares, buzzards, along with fantastic sunsets. We are already trying to plan when we can go back! I could rave about this place for hours! Take me back now!

Thank you for your lovely comments, it truly is a wonderful place. We look forward to your return in the future. Property Owner

  • "Brilliant barn in a brilliant location."

Jackie was so helpful for us as-well. We lost power during storm Dennis but she was on hand to provide us with candles, matches, firewood and bottled water whilst we waited it out. Thankfully it only lasted a few hours but she helped us out tremendously during this time including helping to light the stove :) Highly recommended

  • "We were met on arrival by Jackie the owner who was really good in telling us where everything was."

The cottage was great and very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable. It was great to sit and relax with the roaring fire at night. The location was great for being out and about. I would definitely recommend it.

About the location

NORTHLEACH

Bourton on the water 5.5 miles; Stow-on-the-wold 9.1 miles;

Northleach IS just off the Roman road, the Fosse Way (A429) 8 miles north-east of Cirencester and 10 miles south-west of Stow-on-the-Wold, and about 7 miles from Burford - making it an excellent place to travel from if you're looking to visit these popular and attractive places. Northleach was at one time an important market town, celebrated throughout Europe as a major centre for the Cotswold wool trade! The fifteenth-century church of St Peter and St Paul, paid for by the wealthy wool merchants, was built with stone dug from the quarry in the town itself and what is now the Market Square. More recently the village has been used in a number of recent films, including the Casual Vacancy of 2015.
