Littledean is a village in the Forest of Dean, containing many ancient buildings, and with Roman fortifications evident on the hillside east of the village. It provides a shop, Post Office and two pubs. The nearby picturesque village of Newnham-on-Severn offers riverside walks, a wide range of individual shops, and traditional inns within well preserved Georgian buildings. The Royal Forest of Dean, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and England's largest oak forest, offers many activities including cycling, horse riding and numerous lovely walks.
