  • "The property overall was spacious, clean, and comfortable."

    Unfortunately, we were denied access to the lovely garden due to not being able to open both the bifold doors and the side patio door. The owner explained this was due to a previous repair following damage caused by a guest, and the other door had a missing key. We considered this to be a potential fire safety issue, as the only exit was through the kitchen, and it also went against the property description, which refers to outdoor living. We also found the house to be cool at times and were advised not to alter the heating, which was a concern, particularly as the weather was cold during parts of our stay. On a final note, it is worth mentioning that the access route to the property from the village is not ideal, as the road is very narrow and could be potentially dangerous due to oncoming traffic, making it unsuitable for some drivers. Overall, it is a good property with helpful owners, but it is in a remote location and has one or two issues that need addressing.

  • "Our host Brenda was very friendly and available if we had problems/ queries ."

    However it would have been nice as it was so hot during the day to have been able to open the patio doors and sit that side of the property as well. (To make it more private for all put up a wooden fence ) Also a welcome pack stating how the appliances worked and the heating system as well is needed. The bungalow is very comfortable and in a lovely quiet spot with walks directly from it, also the nearby church and the Monument were within walking distance. Overall the bungalow was outstanding and we would have no hesitation to recommend to others ( just buy your food shopping before you arrive there due to rural location) For cyclists it is located on The National cycle route and there is secure cycle storage there.   • "Well presented property, with very welcoming hosts."

    If you are looking for a quiet place to recharge your battery, then this could well be the place for you. Access to the property was challenging, country location makes for small country roads which some may find a bit nerve-wracking.

  • "Delightful, comfy, spacious home-from-home house, nestled in the greenest of hidden spots."

    Cows roam by, deep hedgerows are home to a world of wildlife, the tranquility is wonderful. Time in the house is easy, the views so lovely from every window. Owners on hand for anything if needed, equally there’s no feeling of being overlooked by anyone at all. We had a fabulous time visiting Gloucester cathedral, Westonbirt arboretum, Chipping Sodbury and have a long list of places we will visit next time. Think you Brenda & David, hope to spend time in Monument View again.

  • "Spacious and comfortable accommodation in a quiet, rural location."

    Great outside seating to enjoy the sunset. The perfect base for visiting the local area. Hosts Brenda and David, very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. A wonderful place to stay and relax.

  • "We found the property to be very clean, roomy and comfortable, in a very peaceful location, with access to various local walks across the fields."

    The outdoor enclosed seating area was very pleasant on sunny afternoons. The owners were very welcoming and it was great having the reassurance of their presence, without intrusion, in a somewhat isolated spot. Overall, we would highly recommend the property.

  • "Absolutely stunning place to stay."

    The place is clean and bright and comfortable and pretty spacious. There's a paddock visible from the living room and we enjoyed watching the horses when we were relaxing. The place is truly remote, a lot further down back country lanes than I expected but that wasn't a problem at all. It was quite a nice surprise. Brenda and David were lovely hosts too, very hospitable and kind. We hope to be back at some point!

  • "Beautiful property, clean with every home comfort."

    The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Living next door gives the security of a contact if needing advice or help with anything. Benefits being able to park right next to house which is great for unpacking and loading with no steps. Surrounded by lovely countryside it’s perfect for those wanting a peaceful location with very little passing traffic. The night skies are amazing having hardly any light pollution. Perfect for walkers and cyclists. There are also lots of interesting places to visit. One of our favourites was Castle Combe. Also Stroud for Saturday market. Worth having National Trust membership as quite a few places to visit in the area. After all of this The Beaufort Arms in Hawkesbury Upton has a great atmospheres and serves lovely food with a choice of small or large portions to suit all appetites. They do a nice Sunday roast too. Highly recommended.

  • "What a great place!"

    Brenda and Davis were excellent hosts, always on hand but never intrusive. They ensured our stay was very enjoyable with some lovely touches around the home on our arrival. The house is in such a peaceful area that at times you can only hear birdsong, so relaxing. It has a rural location, yet still only a few minutes from all the facilities you may require. A really wonderful getaway location. Very comfortable inside and out, well equipped and homely, with a lovely view from the patio. Thank you for a wonderful home from home.

  • "Upon arrival at Monument View we were warmly greeted by the owners who were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, including basic provisions, which were much appreciated."

    The house was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. It is furnished to a high standard and is immaculate in every way. The property is set in beautiful countryside surroundings, and is very quiet and peaceful. An ideal place to have a relaxing holiday. We highly recommend this property. We didn't want to leave, and look forward to returning, hopefully in the not too distant future.

  • "We stayed at Monument View for a week and didn't want to leave!"

    When we arrived we were greeted by both Brenda and Dave who were really lovely and made us feel very welcome. The house was very spacious and clean and had stunning views from every room. The kitchen was huge and had everything you needed to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both showers were excellent and gave instant hot water with good pressure. We booked this area to get away from it all and have some peace and quiet which we did in abundance. We are seasoned travellers and have stayed in many holidays rentals and this one is by far one of the best. We wouldn't hesitate to book again and we are looking forward to returning some day.

Monument View is a lovely property resting in the countryside location of Hawkesbury, near Hawkesbury Upton.

Nestled into the Cotswolds AONB, this property is ideal for friends or older families looking for a tranquil getaway to Gloucestershire.

Be welcomed into a property filled with natural light, discovering a spacious kitchen with many home-from-home appliances, ideal for cooking up a storm.

The living/dining room is a well-presented space with a dining area where guests can indulge in a hearty meal, and a sitting area with a Smart TV, ideal for movie nights in.

The bifold doors of the living/dining room lead out to a delightful garden space, ideal for alfresco dining, and there is also a rear patio with furniture for morning coffee.
