  • "Very rural, bijou but very well looked after considering the recent heatwaves."

    Initial impressions not very good as the parking area and surroundings are very untidy. Very friendly and helpful couple. Recommended for getting away from the everyday rush.

As we are a working farm, there is always something happening around the farm, and this can unfortunately mean that some areas look a little busier than we would like. We’re pleased to hear that you found the shepherd’s hut itself clean, tidy and unique. This is the area we work hard to keep to a high standard, as it is the space you are staying in and overlooking. The parking area is around 100 yards away and out of sight from the retreat, so we hope that once you arrived at the shepherd’s hut, you found your stay to be as expected and enjoyable.   • "If you are after a restful, quiet break, with walks from the door, this is the place for you."

    Lovely setting within walking distance of Severn Way, tucked away in an orchard with hens and two entertaining goats for company. The hut provided all we needed for a comfortable self catering break. We particularly liked the secure veranda with table and chairs, that also allowed our dog to roam outside the hut without upsetting livestock.

  • "Lovely, peaceful place to stay."

    watched the foxes one evening. very clean, nice comfy bed. everyone we spoke to was friendly and helpful. for a peaceful break for two with goats for neighbours its ideal. Thank you.. Bill and Val

  • "We had a lovely stay at the foxes den, this hut and location are a slice of heavenly peace and quiet, everyone we met there(literally just a few people) was very friendly and kind, the hut is out the way with no intrusions, I would highly recommend this place to anyone, fabulous, fantastic and amazing."

  • "Had a fantastic weekend stay in May at The Foxes Den with my husband and our border terrier Gus."

    The shepherds hut was immaculately clean and tidy, there was great amenities - the shower was hot, the bed was comfortable and the positioning in the orchard with only the goats and cockerels for company was perfect. The fully enclosed veranda area was perfect for the dog as he was desperate to see the goats! There was a great dog walk on the doorstep along the severn which is completely undeveloped (other than the old power plant). We met the owners on the final morning, they are super kind and we wish them all the best for the Foxes Den.

  • "We had a great stay at The Foxes Den."

    The shepherd’s hut was really well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable few days away. We especially enjoyed seeing the goats and chickens each day - a fun and memorable part of the stay. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area, with lots of good walks and places to explore nearby. We’d definitely stay at The Foxes Den again if we’re in the area.

  • "This was an idyllic spot for a quiet break, and I felt instantly relaxed on arrival."

    The shepherd’s hut is finished to a high standard, the bed is so comfortable and there was a thoughtful welcome basket, as well as milk and a bottle of wine provided. The information about how to light the log burner was helpful and the history in the folder was really interesting. I would definitely stay again.

  • "We enjoyed the most wonderful two night stay at The Foxes Den which was so peaceful and relaxing."

    Beautifully furnished with lots of room and storage options. The bed was super comfy and it had gorgeous fox bedding and cushions. We loved meeting the goats and watching them from the hut (they were such a highlight!). The owners are lovely and made us feel extremely welcome. Thank you for the kind treats on arrival. We can't wait to visit again for a longer break!

  • "Me, my wife and dog enjoyed the experience of the shepherds hut at foxes den , although we were only there for 1night and 1day due to a car accident on our way there , the woodland orchard it is set in was extremely tranquil and private, with wild life all around from foxes running round on an evening to chickens, ducks , pheasants and all the other natural woodland habitants."

    Although our stay was cut short by a serious road accident, the permanent contact from the owners on how we were and how they could help to get us to the holiday was just amazing, not only that the cold iced bucket of wine and treats that was left made the experience a lot more enjoyable. Would definitely go back and the people who live on site are all so very friendly and welcoming, I couldn’t praise this holiday let enough. Walks are beautiful the area is so stunning and great pubs for food and all dog friendly. Thanks to all for our stay , it truly is beautiful!
