The Hermitage

The Hermitage is very sweet.

The cottage is comfortable, cozy and yet also open and spacious. Very good use of space. The bed was large and comfortable and we had plenty of blankets. The light was great in the cottage and we loved sitting at the little table outdoors. It was wonderful. A few of things that need updating- lights in the bathroom need some lightbulbs. We only had 2 out of5 working. Also the coffee maker could use an update. You have to keep an eye on it otherwise it will make coffee until water runs out! My husband liked it but as an espresso drinker I found it more difficult. The door to the bathroom needs to be fixed. It became pretty annoying very quickly. Lastly the direction to the cottage maybe need an update. We knew it was across from the Falcon Inn but we had a struggle to find it so called the owner for help and she rescued us immediately- big thank you to her.

The property was generally clean and the bed was comfortable.

The shower was really good. The bathroom sink , however, took ages to drain as if there was a blockage which we did mention in the visitors book for the owners to see. The bathroom door is very stiff and, even 'with a good shove' as recommended in the instruction book, I was not able to open fully. A microwave and a freezer compartment in the fridge would have been helpful. We did enjoy our stay though and the Falcon Inn across the road is a real bonus as the food is excellent.

Excellent launching location for visiting the Cotswolds.

Very peaceful environment. It fit our needs perfectly. We had a great time.

The Hermitage is in a lovely setting in a pretty village.

Unfortunately it could have been cleaner. There were quite a few cobwebs & visible dust under some of the furniture. The kitchen was probably adequate, although most of the crockery was on a shelf under a skylight with quite a few cobwebs. The plates weren’t clean as bits were dropping on them. Two of the plates had not been washed properly & still had bits of food on them. The fridge smelt sour- as if milk had been spilled & not cleaned adequately. I would not have felt comfortable cooking or storing anything that wasn’t sealed in the fridge. The shower was lovely but the bathroom door kept sticking. I know that wasn’t new as I’d seen it in a previous review. Overall we were disappointed.

Few things need attention though Bathroom door is very very stiff Heated rail in bathroom really needs mending as it's a bit chilly showering with no heating in the mornings But lovely place to stay

Clean, comfortable and well-supplied.

Easy drive to Cirencester and other Cotswold villages. Using the post code with Google maps leads to misleading location. Falcon Inn across the street is a real bonus!

Lovely cottage, Only thing missing is a heated airer.

A very well presented, luxurious and comfortable cottage.

Kitchen and bathroom outstanding. Location ideal for exploring the Cotswolds. We had everything we needed for the week - shame about the weather.

Lovely character property with parking.

Real fire and modern shower brilliant. Minor things bedding a bit tired and stained on removing covers. No oven gloves as mentioned before and the two mugs both have chips on them. So nearly perfect the points are minors

A lovely cottage; very clean and thoughtfully equipped (always a pleasant surprise to have sharp kitchen knives and enough tea towels!

). Everything was comfortable and lovely, and the owners were communicative and helpful.

We had abit of confusion with the recycling as it wasn't immediately obvious until owner came and showed my husband. We used the oven several times, but due to the numbers around the dials being faded, we had to gauge temperature - not a deal breaker but abit of a pain. Also a pair of oven gloves would have been useful. There was only one tumbler glass - a few more would be good.

Would love to have had access to a clothes dryer as we were there for 10 days, but other than that, a perfect place to stay!

Amazing property in an amazing area.

Wish we could have stayed longer. Had a Nice relaxed stay, couldn’t have wanted anymore out the property, the shower was amazing. We tried the pub next door but found the locals rude when entering & menu not to our taste, so went to mason arms, much nicer. The grounds of the property were kept very nice and was private and secluded. We’ll be back again one day.

Beautiful cottage to relax and unwind for our short break away.

Excellent facilities and very comfortable. Beautiful village setting with a couple of superb pubs for meals near by. Good location to explore the Cotswolds.

This is a lovely property in a great location.

It was spacious, well furnished and the bed was very comfortable. This would be a great place to stay at any time of the year. If I am being picky, a microwave would be handy. There were no toilet rolls or bin bags but I had taken some so it wasn’t a problem.
