1 Manor Cottage

Lovely, well equipped cottage in a fantastic location in Stow, just off the Market Square.

Field to walk the dog close by. Natasha, the owner, lives nearby and was so helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out. Only drawback was that the cottage / bed was a little small for me, but not everyone is 6ft 3inches and 18stone!

The cottage had everything we needed and was so comfy and cosy. Close to pubs, shops, cafes and restaurants so in the perfect location. Would definitely return here! Thank you.

We've stayed here on quite a few occasions now and haven't been disappointed. Yes, the cottage is compact as other reviews have pointed out but it has all the amenities and is just round the corner from Stow square. The parking outside the cottage can be awkward due to selfish parking by visitors and locals alike but there are plenty of alternatives within a short walk. Would thoroughly recommend.

This was our 4th stay at the cottage and everything was as good as always.

Appreciated the welcome items, much appreciated. Have booked again for later in the year when Stow is usually a bit less busy and the parking is easier. Fortunately the free long-stay Cotswolds Council car park next to Tesco usually had a space or two left and it’s quite handy for the cottage.

Small but fine for 2 people, cooker bit complicated to start with but got used to it.

all bits and pieces needed for self catering in cottage,lost kitchen scissors on a picnic,emailed owner and replied not to bother about it, appreciated wine ,crisps and biscuits when arrived

Very quaint little cottage literally a stones throw away from the centre of Stow on the Wold close to all amenities.

It was a lot smaller than we thought.

But it was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. We did find the cooker and hob a bit difficult to understand but got there in the end. The parking wasn’t easy outside perhaps a sign could be put up outside to say residents parking only. There is a sign further down but not very noticeable. Would certainly recommend property.

This is our second visit to 1 Manor Cottage & again we’ve had a fantastic time.

Lovely welcome package, great, warm cottage & everything you need to make it a wonderful stay. Our elderly dog loves it & settled back in straight away. We are looking forward to staying again in the future.

We had a lovely stay in this property, as advertised it is small but was more than adequate for the two of us.

The property is in a perfect position in Stowe, we also got parked across the road every day. We found Stowe to be an ideal location for touring the Cotswolds. The only minor thing we thought was missing was a full length mirror in the bedroom /landing.

Excellent stay for a second time.

The cottage is compact but has all the necessary facilities. And it's ideally situated right next to the Square in Stow. Also, nice touch from the owners to leave a bottle of wine plus tea and coffee etc. Would love to stay again.

It’s just a shame that you can’t park at the property and the outside space is really too small to use.

Great location.

We went for three nights with our dog.

The cottage was very small and with a chilly atmosphere. We had hoped to let the dog out into the side garden but he couldn't handle the high step on one exist and we couldnt open the door on the other. The two seater sofa was barely wide enough for two with a cold lino floor in the living/dining area. Well equipped but could so with a microwave. Upstairs OK..

Having just returned from a week at 1 Manor Cottage, we can highly recommend it.

The cottage itself is so cosy & very well laid out to maximise the use of space. It has everything you would want for your stay & is very comfortable. The parking didn’t bother us & we managed to find a space nearby no problem. We loved our stay & Scrumpy our dog loved having bowls, & doggy stuff provided. Thank you very much.

Very sweet cottage , very clean , ice box door in fridge broken but slotted back on .

Parking can be tricky for unloading & departing but always found a space close by . Beautiful town very busy , people very friendly in cafes/ shops

Cottage was small but for 2 people and a dog it was perfect loved it Very central to all the pubs and shops the cottage was well equipped with everything you would need .

Never used washing machine or dishwasher but for small cottage had all modcons took our own coffee and sugar but was grateful to owner for leaving some as we run out very sad to have left such a lovely cottage and stow on the wold If you are going to eat out book the pie for 2 beef/ onion in stag and lamb in porch was fab and queens was like a proper pub with lots of locals lovely big cricket field for dog just across the road Our stay was 10/10

Compact and very cosy cottage within a stone's throw of the centre of Stow.

As the listing says, it is compact but it has all the facilities you'd need and was well supplied with tea and coffee etc. We're of average size and didn't experience any of the issues other people have referred to. There is a parking space immediately outside but it tended to get snapped up whenever we went out in the car. However there is more parking down the road in various places. Overall the cottage is well worth booking.

The cottage is in a fantastic central location in Stow.

It is very well kept, with a modern kitchen & bathroom. Our dog was a big fan of the under floor heating! The cottage is probably smaller than we anticipated. We stayed for 5 nights & the weather was particularly wet & windy. So we probably spent more time inside the cottage than we usually would. The 2 seater sofa and bed are both small & not overly comfortable. The shower is very good but again small if your are more than average height. There is good storage & wardrobe space in the bedroom, with plenty of hangers. We had no problems finding a park space across the road from the cottage (near the postbox). Stow is lovely, so this is a lovely little cottage for a central location

This cottage is beautifully cared for, perfectly located and does exactly what it says on the tin.

The reasons behind our 3 star review are purely personal I.e., we have a reactive puppy and although we are training to ensure he gets used to all sorts of unexpected noises, the walls are particularly thin and everytime someone opened the gate or went up the stairs, it set him off. We assumed that the lack of space would suit us, as we don't require all that much however we found that the bed and sofa were just too small to relax fully (we are 6ft and 5ft8), the shower was rather difficult and I opted not to wash my hair for ease.. overall though, it really is a wonderful little place and if it were a little bigger, we would 10000% be back.

Lovely surprises when we arrived Milk and wine in the fridge, snacks and fresh coffee to welcome us. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. Lovely large fluffy towels. Every thing was comfortable and cosy. We both slept really well in the bed. Thank you

Lovely house on a super location.

Fully equiped, and the welcome gifts were higly appreciated. One thing; if you both are tall (which we were not) you might have a problem with the size of the furniture (bed, sofa, chairs). The sofabed doesn’t sit very comfortable.

Lovely little cottage in a good location to Stow and the Cotswolds.

The property had everything we needed and we managed to park outside the property without any issues. The only slight negative for us was the sofa was a bit small (we’re both quite tall), hence not full stars for comfort. It was very clean and modern with good facilities.

The cottage was cosy and welcoming, in a great location, very clean and we appreciated the wine and food freebies.

The only things we didn't like were the bed as we found it uncomfortable (but that's just personal preference) and found the white gate/main entrance unsuitable for our dog who is sensitive to noise (we expected some noise, but it was louder and more frequent than we thought it would be). Overall however it was a lovely stay :-)

It was a lovely surprise to find a bottle of wine in the fridge. All furnishings and equipment were of a very high quality which made for a very special holiday. Thankyou!

1manor cottage,was very comfortable and had everything we needed only one hitch and that was could not get the hob to work but once I phoned the owner she told me what to do and it was plain sailing after that.

Very well situated and equipped cottage.

Small, but suited us perfectly for a week. The owner had thought of everything to make life easy, even batteries for the remotes! The only small criticism is the sofa was not particularly comfy, but this didn't affect our enjoyment. We would love to come back!

The cottage itself was beautifully presented and immaculate, although it took bijou to a different level.

Proximity to Stow centre excellent. There were however a few elements that could be improved upon :- Bathroom mirror - At 5'3" I had to stand on tiptoe to apply makeup and then to dry hair had to use the plug on landing and again stand on tip toe to be able to see what I was doing. A long mirror on the wall space on the landing would solve this and the bathroom mirror/cupboard should be lowered. Plugs - in the bedroom, we had to slightly move a chest of drawers to get to the double plug. There was trailing lead under the bed but was very awkward to access as bed so close to the window wall. Most people need to charge phones/watches nowadays so a double plug either side of the bed is definitely warranted. Sofa - extremely uncomfortable to sit on, leaves no chance of being able to relax in the property. The TV also far too small. Would recommend looking at the comfort aspect of this room. Although we are fairly active and enjoy being out and about, sometimes if weather doesn't permit this it would be nice to relax in comfort. Parking - I initially booked this property as the photo clearly showed a pull in/car port area by the side of the cottage for a car parking space. It says on-road parking so did presume that this was it ie. parking on the road by the cottage. It is only when you read the print after that it states there is no parking with the cottage. This is not clearly obvious by the very deceiving photograph.

This cottage was a haven to us after our Air B&B was an utter disaster.

Sykes managed to get in touch with the owner on a Sunday and she kindly accepted us at short notice for the next day. It was highly appreciated (and a relief) that we had someplace to stay and meant we could continue with our holiday. The cottage was clean and had everything you could need. The little treats left to welcome us were very thoughtful. I placed 4* for comfort, as the bed and sofa were harder than we are used to, but that is a personal issue and nothing against the property. I would highly recommend this cottage for a stay in the Cotswolds.
