  • "Excellent return stay."

Only slight negatives - which in no way would deter a return visit - are ‘leaky’ bath plug & bathroom a little on the chilly side. Thimble Cottage is cosy, comfortable & well-equipped for self-catering. It has a much-loved feel to it & is well-maintained. The owners are especially good at leaving lovely, individually tailored welcome messages & treats.

Thank you for your 5 star review which is greatly appreciated. It was a pleasure to welcome you back to Thimble Cottage again. Thank you for your comments which are receiving our attention, feedback from guests is always welcomed. We wish you a very Happy New Year and would love to welcome you back again. The cottage was so well equipped and well looked after, everything you could think of was provided even essentials for the dog which was a lovely touch. The garden was such a bonus to be able to let out the dog first thing in the morning. We were so lucky with the weather and made the most of visiting other places of interest. I would definitely recommend this property and the service provided.

The owner went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and was very helpful when we contacted her both before and during the stay. It felt very personalised as there were things to welcome both our dog and our children to the cottage. Thimble Cottage is really well equipped and a very relaxing place to stay. Downstairs in particular was lovely and cool during a heatwave due to the stone walls. We loved exploring Winchcombe and the surrounding area. A perfect place for a lovely week away! Thank you!

The cottage is centrally located, Winchcombe was busier than usual that weekend due to local events being held in the town. The bathroom in the cottage is located downstairs as per the booking description we hope this wasn’t too inconvenient for you, many of these historic properties have bathroom facilities situated on the ground floor. Beautifully set out. Clean and bright and with many "extras" which I've not enjoyed elsewhere. Totally enclosed garden which was marvellous for our dog. Also garden not set up that you would be frightened to let the dog to have free access. The welcoming food items for dog and humans hugely appreciated. Abundance of all household items and cleaning equipment. Didn't need to buy anything like that. Just cannot speak too well about the house and also the town of Winchcombe itself. Made to feel welcome wherever we went.

We chose this area as it was convenient to visit our son at Cheltenham Uni, Park Campus. The cottage is attractively decorated, comfortable and completely dog friendly, the garden was completely enclosed and safe for her. We had no problem finding roadside parking in November. The village has a number of pubs and restaurants, Honey Bea's cafe was lovely having a choice of gluten free cakes for me. The local hardware store was useful to replace forgotten mobile cables and to buy further logs for the cottages cosy fire. The welcome basket was much appreciated by us and the dog. We’d only mark it down slightly for comfort because we didn’t find the bed to be too comfortable, but that could be just because we’re used to a memory foam mattress. • "Thimble Cottage is really a delightful place to stay."

We said we'd be arriving after dark, so our hosts made sure the heating and lights were on. We found wine, biscuits and milk waiting for us - and even nicer, a colouring book and sweets for our five year old. We've stayed in a lot of places but nowhere has left a welcome pack for our child before, so that was a really nice touch. The cottage is really well equipped - plenty of loo roll, dishwasher tablets etc as well as all the crockery and kitchenware you'd need. The cottage is charming, with a bigger garden than you'd think from the photos, and it's really close to local services - a nice deli and bakery a five minute walk away, Co-op a 2 minute drive. Parking is a little tricky so don't expect to be able to park right outside! The only issue we had - and I feel churlish mentioning it really when the cottage is so nice - is that my husband and I found the double bed quite uncomfortable. I appreciate that getting a substantial mattress up the narrow stairs is probably challenging! I might suggest a mattress topper to give the bed a more luxurious feel and to fit with the standard of the rest of the cottage. Overall, we really enjoyed our break and would certainly consider booking here again. We stay in the Cotswolds every autumn but haven't visited Winchcombe before but shall certainly be back! Oh, and in terms of Covid security the cottage was extremely clean and I certainly had no concerns there.

Thank you for your lovely review of Thimble Cottage Dr Moss, we are so pleased you had a wonderful holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back. We note your comments with reference to the mattress in the main bedroom. The mattresses we provide are John Lewis quality products and to date we have not had any adverse comments regarding these. We are sure that you will appreciate that mattress comfort is always a matter of personal preference. We are sorry if you didn't find the mattress as comfortable as you would of liked and thank you for letting us know. To address this in the future we will make available mattress toppers to those guests who would require them. Once again Thank you for your great review. Thimble Cottage Property Owner
