  • "Me and my partner came to Sykes Cottages and stayed in Oak Lodge over New years."

It was absolutely stunning. Brendan the owner was awesome. He kept us informed with a courtesy text the morning of our arrival and even collected us from the entrance gate on his buggy and took us and our bags on his golf buggy so we didn't have to walk around the lake in the dark! Nothing was ever a problem and he made us feel very welcome and looked after. The lodge was bijoux but beautiful. It had all the amenities you would need for a break away. We spent loads of time just looking over the stunning lake, feeding the very hungry fishes and using the lovely hot tub. Again, Brendan offered to meet us on the day of our departure with his buggy however we had already left, regretting not taking his offer as the ramp down to the lodges and lakes was quite a steep walk, but not too bad. There were really no negatives to our stay. It was a wonderful relaxing break in a beautiful setting with very helpful hosts.

  • "Christmas at Oak Lodge On arrival Christmas Eve Brendan had the hot tub ready for us with the starter pack of fuel included which was a lovely touch."

The added touch of lit Christmas trees around the lake made it feel very festive even though the weather was not. The lodge was very comfortable, cosy and warm overlooking the fishing lake. Very quiet and relaxing holiday. 10 minute walk to the local pub passing the alpacas on the way. Brendan was very helpful and on hand if we needed anything. Highly recommend and would love to return in the summer.

  • "Amazing two nights in the Oak Lodge at Bridge Lake."

We arrived earlier than scheduled, however we’re allowed to check in slightly earlier and was given all the necessary directions/information ahead of our stay. The lodge was beautiful and had all the facilities we could have hoped for (and also nice and modern). We had a lovely decking area with a wood fired hot tub (already pre-lit and at the perfect temperature ahead of our arrival), a fire pit and table and chairs covered by a gazebo in case of bad weather. The decking overlooked a clear fishing lake with plenty fish and all in all the lodge and scenery was as tranquil as can be! When we left the grounds to visit the local village, it was a 10 minute walk to the local pub (The Green Dragon) which had fantastic food and feel to it. Not to mention we were greeted on each walk by the friendly alpaca’s just outside of the Bridge Lake entrance who allowed us to feed and pet them. Upon checking out a lovely gentleman came by with a good caddy to take us and all of our belongings up to our car ready to leave which was a really nice touch! Overall - a superb stay and couldn’t recommend it enough!

  • "We stayed here for a week and Wow!"

! the location of the lodges are excellent - very peaceful which is just what we needed. Inside is everything you would need for a self catering stay. The lodge was very clean, modern and definitely exceeded our expectations. Brendan was a brilliant host - he met us on arrival and took our bags down to the lodge on a buggy and couldn't have done enough for us for the entire stay. We have recommended this place to many people already and we will definitely be staying here again!!

  • "Beautiful cabin, amazing hot tub, lovely setting."

The sky was wonderfully clear and the lake was so quiet even with other occupants dotted about. My only suggestions are nicer linen on the bed, and potentially more privacy for the hot tubs. The path that leads down to the lake has pretty clear views of the hot tubs at each cabin which, especially at night, can be pretty invasive with people returning from the pub.

  • "We had a very relaxed time at Oak Lodge."

The lodge was very well done, a lot of thought must have gone in it. It is not big but ideal to relax in. It is all very clean and offering all one needs. The location is very quiet. The wildlife is great. It was great to sit outside and let the world go by. The fishing was very good. They loved the sweetcorn, as I cought many, from small to big. It was great to relax in the hot tub, with a glass of wine, and watch nature. We do highly recommend it. We will be back. Brendon from Bridge Lake Farm is very kind, helpfull and friendly. He made us feel very welcome.

On a personal level we found the lodge very cramped but otherwise can't fault the whole experience.

  • "What an amazing week!"

Greeted by the owner on arrival and taken down to the lodge with our bags. Very peaceful and private location and close to supermarkets etc. Only 25 minutes from Bicester Village also which was a bonus. I would recommend the Oak Lodge to anyone and will definitely book again (will probably bring our own logs for the hot tub next time though as they were quite expensive and only lasted a couple of days). Still for the convenience of having them dropped at the lodge within minutes of requesting it is worth it if you don't take your own. Thanks again for a fantastic relaxing week away

We stayed in Oak Lodge and upon arrival all information was clearly emailed over to us to make it as easy and possible, we also got all our bags out the car and to our surprise the owner came over, helped us load them onto his buggy, and gave us a lift down to our lodge!
