Description
Honeysuckle Cottage is a large cottage in the lovely village of Middle Tysoe. This stylishly furnished cottage is ideal for large families or groups of friends who are seeking a wonderful getaway break to this stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
At the end of a row of cottages you will find Honeysuckle Cottage, and upon entering through the front gate you will find the cottage’s stable-style front door, which opens into the wood panelled hallway, where you can kick off your shoes and enter into the large, dual aspect sitting room that has been lovingly furnished for complete comfort, where you can sink into one of the two three-seater sofas, and watch your favourite show on the Smart TV, as the woodburning stove keeps the room warm and toasty.
When dinner time comes around, make your way into the well-equipped kitchen/diner, and make use of the wonderful appliances such as the electric range cooker and fridge/freezer, to cook up delicious meals, before retreating to the bright and airy dining area to dig into your meal sat at the lovely reclaimed oak table.
Make use of the enclosed, south-west facing walled garden, which has a patio and gravelled area with an outdoor table set and a charcoal barbecue, perfect for alfresco dining in warmer months.
Back inside, you will find a handy utility room with a washer/dryer, as well as a cloakroom with a basin and WC and finally a rear hallway, which is a useful space to store coats and shoes.
A half-panelled staircase leads you up to the first floor, where there are two homely, welcoming king-size bedrooms with ample storage space for your belongings, one of which benefits from an en-suite shower room, as well as the family bathroom which has an inviting bath, and a rain shower over, where you can enjoy an invigorating rinse and be welcomed by a toasty towel thanks to the heated towel rail!
A further staircase leads up to the eaves of the cottage, where there is a dual aspect twin room and a triple aspect twin room, sharing the floor with the shower room.
The early risers of the group can enjoy breakfast for two at the breakfast bar which has two adjustable height stools and then head out into the side courtyard area to take a seat at the wooden bench and take advantage of the morning sun, with a warming mug of coffee!
Once your group are ready for the day, head out and discover the delightful surrounding countryside, with spectacular views in this "off the beaten track" village which is largely self-contained, with a local pub (the Peacock Inn), Chinese take-away, Post Office with shop, and a very well-stocked village store with off-license. Not forgetting the children's playground just a short walk away.
Head for a great day out at Heythrop Zoological Gardens where you can discover an array of wonderful exotic animals, and finish your day with a pub dinner at one of the many pubs that sit within nearby Chipping Norton such as The Red Lion and The Fox. On the way home stop by the Diddly Squat Farm Shop to stock up on delicious local produce.
Visit the famous Cotswold market town of Moreton-in-Marsh, where you can enjoy a wonderful breakfast at The Cotswold Tea Room, before heading over to Cotswold Falconry Centre to discover the range of falcons, eagles, owls and other birds of prey, and finish off your day with a tipple and meal at The Black Bear Inn.
The bustling market town of Stow-on-the-Wold is nearby, where you can take a walk around the market square, which is the heart of the community and offers boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, as well as the Farmers’ Market which occurs every second Thursday of each month, featuring inviting local produce. Close by is Kingham, one of the foodie hubs of The Cotswolds, featuring the renowned Daylesford Organic Farm offering dining, a farm shop and stylish home wares.

A beautiful house in a great location to explore the Cotswolds.
The beds & linen were top quality and very comfortable. The addition of fans in each bedroom was very much appreciated with temperatures in the mid thirties. The perfect house for a family or group of friends !

This property far surpassed our expectations.
It was absolutely immaculate so all credit to the wonderful housekeeper Caroline. She had done an amazing job of preparing the property for our arrival – it was absolutely spotless throughout. The cottage is a real credit to the owners as everything has been thought of. The furnishings and fixtures are all of a high standard and the interior decor absolutely stunning. The beds were extremely comfortable and the lovely 100% cotton bedding and quality pillows made for a good night’s sleep. The nearby park was a hit with the children, walking with our dog to the windmill was beautiful, the village shop was wonderful and the neighbours are really friendly. All in all, marvellous cottage to really relax in, situated in a beautiful village within the stunning countryside. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Lovely home in a welcoming village.
There was everything you needed in this home, it was beautifully decorated and maintained and spotlessly clean.
We had a Lovely family break at Honeysuckle Cottage.
There were grandparents, parents, a 4 year old and a baby and all were well catered for. The cottage is well equipped, clean and very comfortable and situated in a pretty village with the Cotswolds, Stratford upon Avon and Warwick within easy reach. There is a Lovely play area nearby which was ideal for the children. A special thank you to Caroline, the housekeeper who was always very helpful with any queries we had. We would definitely recommend a visit.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely village!
It had everything we needed and more, plus plenty of room for 6 adults, a toddler and a crawling 8 month old! The cottage is really well maintained and was nice and clean. We loved that the village shop and pub was within a couple of minutes walking distance and there’s some beautiful walks around. Plus a fab play park for the kids! It was the perfect base for our family holiday and we’d love to visit again!

Very well fitted and finished property with clearly much thought put into it.
Very comfortable with plenty of space to spread out. Great communication from both owner and housekeeper to keep us informed. The only minor drawback was the need to park on the road to unload and cross, for us, a very wet grass bank with a 50 mph wind to cope with!

A lovely cottage in a quiet location convenient for the Cotswolds and Banbury.
Spacious kitchen/diner and lovely lounge with plenty of sofas and chairs. We were six friends staying for a weekend get-together and it was perfect for us.

Beautiful cottage (more like an house!
) immaculately presented. Everything you could need, kitchen had a great range of appliances and utensils, bedrooms spacious and great to have so many bathrooms. The village was lovely, everyone was really friendly and the house was a great base to explore the surrounding area. Highly recommend this property. Caroline the housekeeper was fab, we didn’t need her but she allowed us an early check in and said to contact her if we had any issues. Peacock pub in the village is great, pool table and a big beer garden. Chinese was really good, we had takeaway and took it back to the cottage. Fish and chip van comes on a Tuesday night and parks on pub car park.

The cottage was lovely.
It was as shown in the photos, if not better. It comfortably fit 8 people. There was everything you could need for your stay. The village was lovely with a good shop and a cafe. There is lots to do in the area.
Communication from the owners and the housekeeper on email were first class and certainly were not expected!
We arrived to a lovely bottle of wine a packet of biscuits and a fresh pint of milk in the fridge to get us going. The house had everything we needed and the request for a cot and stair gate were duly provided. A small issue (which was communicated) with the log burner not working was absolutely fine, one because we were told in advance, two because the weather was glorious. The only very small downside was the parking, it didn’t have any, but plenty around 300-400 yds done the road. The locals were fantastic, friendly and cheerful. I would highly recommend this house and the pile t hesitate to return.

Honeysuckle Cottage was fabulous.
Very comfortable, well equipped and everywhere was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable, bed linen clean and fresh. Beautifully decorated and decor was lovely. The dishwasher broke down but after contacting the housekeeper it was fixed in no time at all.

A beautiful and comfortable cottage, very spacious, lots of thought had gone into making it comfortable, we’d definitely go again.
Only downfall is the parking, not that much can be done about that, but it could be worth adding a sentence on the listing to say, whilst there are places you can’t park, there are plenty of spaces nearby- as this added a little anxiety due to us being in 3 cars, then we were pleasantly surprised that there were loads of places to park!

It is ideally situated in a small village allowing you to visit areas of interest in the Cotswolds without having to travel long distances by car. The village pub and shop made us very welcome

Great location for visiting the Cotswolds and Stratford upon Avon set in a very pretty little village.
With the addition of the access to the parking spot ( to help with unloading etc) will be perfect

The cottage was absolutely stunning.
It was thoroughly cleaned and of a beautiful standard. The beds were extremely comfortable, kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary essentials and it really did feel like a home from home. It was the perfect cottage for a weekend away for my friends and I and we would definitely return for another visit.

Lovely property in a very good location to explore Warwickshire and the Cotwolds.
One on the best equipped holiday properties we have stayed at. Plenty of space for a 2 family holiday, with out encroaching on each others privacy.
A beautifully maintained property, the beds were very comfortable and it was very convenient having three bathrooms/shower rooms.
The well stocked kitchen was great, with lots of big pans and cooking trays. In terms of the parking we had no problems parking just down the road. Communication from the owner and the Housekeeper was super, and the suggestion to pick up a pint from the local pub and head across to Herbert's Farm on Friday evening for a burger/veggie was a great novelty. Would thoroughly recommend the house as a great place to stay. I would recommend Chipping Campden as a lovely place to visit, Broadway Tower, Broadway and Bourton On the Water

We felt welcomed by informative emails from the owners and kind texts from the housekeeper. The house was spick and span, elegantly decorated and comfortable. It was really well equipped with thoughtful extras not usually provided in other properties (dishwasher tabs for the week, extra loo rolls and soap for instance). Lots of places to visit within easy reach with lovely countryside to walk or drive through. A real gem.

We had a wonderful stay over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable and the owners did their best to stay in contact with us on the run up to our stay. It's nice and quiet and peaceful at night and the beds are very comfortable. Would love to come back!

Neighbour did yell at me for parking briefly on the grass verge though to unload, so maybe worth taking this of the parking suggestions

Lovely really well equipped and cosy cottage in super village, with lots of facilities- we all really enjoyed our stay - and would throughly recommend cottage to others.
Unloading and reloading a bit of a challenge though lots of parking fairly nearby - do consider putting a drive in - the wood burner needs a bit of maintenance, rope seals to doors coming off etc. Stairs a little steep though useful handrails enable those with disability to get up.

Compact but well equipped accommodation for 8 people. Very comfy beds and sofas. Well presented with very friendly, efficient and accessible housekeeper. Seating and barbecue in small, unlawned back garden. Local pub a bit eccentric but friendly.

Lovely place to stay and no problem with parking just up the road on Main Street.
Locals very friendly. Would be nice to have a shelf near the sink in the top floor bathroom to put a few things on but everything else perfect. Would definitely stay again.

Honeysuckle Cottage proved to be ideal for our family celebration (mother-in-law 90th).
The owners could not have been more helpful. We visited many attractions in the Cotswolds whilst there and had some great meals out. The Castle at Edgehill and the Bell at Shenington were particularly memorable. If you want to learn more about the Roundheads/Cavaliers and the first battle of the Civil War don't miss out the church at Edgehill. We also enjoyed many National Trust estate visits.

A beautiful location, friendly neighbours and with everything on your doorstep for a comfortable stay. The shop was great and the Happy Herefords burger in a barn was amazing. The house itself was spotlessly clean, high standard of furnishing and everything you need for self catering. The little welcome gifts were very nice too. Beds were all comfortable and we enjoyed the log burner of an evening. Thank you - we will definitely be rebooking.

Great communication from the owners with lots of information before we arrived.
A lovely bottle of wine, milk and biscuits on arrival. The cottage is very comfortable with plenty of utensils for cooking in the kitchen . The walled garden area is perfect for alfresco meals and a bit of a sun trap. The cottage is well positioned in a lovely village with some great pubs in nearby villages. We would love to return again soon.

Plenty of showers & toilets - a real asset for a family! The crockery, cutlery & glass wear & pans were in excellent condition! The corner shop was excellent - they seemed to have everything! We had a lovely welcome by Sharon the housekeeper who had made everything just right for our arrival, including leaving a bottle of wine and some biscuits - thank you!The house was perfect for our weekend and each of us enjoyed the rooms we chose upstairs. It was our granddaughters 14th Birthday so we came from Manchester and Essex to celebrate! An ideal venue for our family and felt like home!

What a wonderful time we had in this home form home.
The beds were so comfy and we felt like being wrapped up in luxury. The kitchen was very well equipped, even knives were well sharpened! All in all, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The house has a small area to sit outside and enjoy the sun. Luxurious kitchen and bathrooms. The house is on three floors and as is often the case in older cottages the stairs may be a bit steep for some people Our family of eight enjoyed it immensely. Very good places to eat nearby and plenty of places to visit too.

We appreciated the luxury touches and the welcome bottle of wine and walnut loaf. The beds are so comfortable with extremely high quality linens. The house is very clean and the interior design is fabulous, we loved the log burner in the lounge.

It had everything we needed: kitchen well equipped, enough towels etc, and all we could need for 2 children. 2 stair gates, cot and high chair. Comfortable beds and food quality bathrooms. Parking Might be an issue to some people, but absolutely fine if you park outside the shop as recommended. Would happily recommend this place to anyone.

Everything that we could have possibly needed was provided, including a high chair, travel cot and stair gates, making life much easier with the little ones. The standard of cleanliness, decoration and facilities in the house were second to none and every member of the party commented on what a beautiful place it was to stay. Thank you!

Fabulous weekend in a beautiful cottage. We didn’t really explore the local area instead thoroughly enjoyed our time together in this lovely home. Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We would definitely consider another trip in the future.

A nice weekend break, visited Stratford on Avon followed by an evening in the Peacok at Oxhill. A great Saturday! Beautiful cottage ideally placed. An excellent weekend. Sunday we visited Hidcote gardens before a pub lunch and walk in Tyse. Needed a much longer stay to really get the most out of this area. Will be back!

The cottage was very comfortable and homely, it felt like home. The villages were very friendly and five stars for the Chinese. We loved the scenery and the surroundings and would certainly recommend Honeysuckle. We would love to come back, thank you for a lovely stay.

The stay at Honeysuckle cottage was delightful. We toured all the small villages, Stratford, Oxford, Chatsworth, Blenheim, Bath, Hidcote Gardens. It’s a beautiful part of England.

The cottage is everything we could have hoped for. Scenery is amazing on the way to Banbury. We would recommend the Castle and Edghill for a superb meal in idyllic surroundings. Thank you once again, we will return.

The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. Character Cottages were very helpful and responded quickly to any questions. The village itself was ideal with the children's playground opposite and the shop just a minute's walk away selling the most delicious artisan bread. Good kitchen and living room facilities and the beds were so comfy, loved sleeping here! Nice surrounding village with shops, pub, tearoom and garden. Went to Stratford for the day and looked around Shakespeare’s birth place, house and garden. Recommend Stratford for the day, lots of exciting things to see. If you go on Shakespeare week there are lots of Shakespeare based activities to do. The local village has everything you might need from food to cleaning products. Nice sunny weather! Warwick Castle is nice to visit and not too far away. Overall this cottage is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in and we all liked the shops and sunny weather! Good space to walk around in and nice atmosphere! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay here!
The beds are so comfy and the village so pretty.
We all really enjoyed ourselves and I’d love to come back. We went to Warwick Castle and it was really fun but a bit scary. We have had a lovely weekend here at Honey suckle Cottage for a family reunion weekend. After traveling from Nottingham, Leicester and Surrey, we were very pleased with the house – how comfortable it is and how everything had been thought of! We stopped at The Peacock in Oxhill for lunch on the Friday which was lovely and the village very picturesque. On Saturday we went to Warwick Castle for the day as we had been given tickets. I wonder if there would be more to do there in season? And the children’s playground was closed which was a shame, although the maze was fantastic! On Sunday we went to Leamington Spa and had a roast at The Fox & Vivian which was excellent! Amazing food but you definitely need to book! The playground opposite the house is a lovely surprise and we spent every evening there playing – we can also highly recommend the fresh bread from the village shop!

Lovely Chinese take away from The Peacock and lots of living space for us all to relax. This is a beautiful home and very well equipped, we would certainly recommend it. A spot of retail therapy in Stow-on-the-Wold really topped the weekend off, plus a gorgeous lunch in The Sheep! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We booked as a Uni friends reunion weekend with people coming from Manchester, Leeds, Cambridge and Bristol. So much laughter our ribs hurt! Loved walking the circle walk past the airfield and to the Bell for some bar snacks. Came back to a roaring log fire! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back next year!

We had a wonderful New Year’s stay as a group of 8 adults, lounge is much bigger than it looks in the photos. Kitchen was perfect for big 'family' meals. Smart TV was great, if it were mine I'd have a selection of board games/dvds available to guests but a minor thing!

Great accommodation for a family occasion. Weather not so good but spent two days enjoying the comforts of Honeysuckle Cottage. Loved the contemporary accommodation in a very cosy home – tempted to light up the fire but general family time overtook the occasion. The smaller ones 3-9 years enjoyed their individual exploring experiences around the house in providing a relaxed environment. Many thanks.

Visited The Castle at Edgehill which overlooks the battle site of 1624. Also the church at Radway where there is an interactive museum about the battle of Edgehill – open all year and free! Upton House is also well worth a visit. Good Chinese meal from The Peacock.

A superb home. Very clean and extremely well equipped. The village is quiet and friendly. Enjoyed a great Chinese from The Peacock. Also visited the White Horse on the way to Banbury and had a lovely meal. Bourton-on-the-Water and Stratford-Upon-Avon were both great days out. Would recommend the cottage to others.
