    Woodburner worked well. Sometimes a bit draughty with open plan arrangementGood walks on your doorstep. Carpenters Arms is a lovely pub. 20 mins to walk to Burford.

  • "Lovely cottage, but could have done with some salt, sugar, vinegar etc (just the basics) in the kitchen."

    Welcome pack was packet of biscuits! We have been holidaying with previous dogs for about 40 years and always had these "basics" provided. Having said that the cottage was very clean and we were satisfied. The week we went the weather was glorious, visited Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Water, Moreton in Marsh, Cirencester, and of course Burford (which has changed a lot since we were last there 25 years ago, but then again so is everywhere changed). Favourite places were Broadway and Bibury. Thank you for a most enjoyable time.

  • "Generally a nice place to stay."

    For the most part it was clean and comfortable and had plenty of space. The chimney was leaking rain and so the wood-burner was rusty and unusable, and had a puddle under it. The main problem was the shortage of kitchen equipment. There was not enough cutlery or bowls for a multi-course meal and snacks, so we were forever washing up, and there are no soup spoons. The cooking utensils are flimsy and not up to the job. There were only two small saucepans and a casserole, so cooking Christmas lunch was a challenge. The owners had thoughtfully left us a disposable roasting tin for a turkey (which we didn't use as we are vegetarians) but otherwise the kitchen was inadequate and I was very pleased that we had taken some essential equipment with us. It would be fine if you only wanted to make breakfast there and then go out for the day, but you can't really cook for a big family. The pub in the village is excellent.

  • "The property was ideally placed for visiting the Cotswolds."

    The kitchen floor was ‘sticky’ underfoot at all times. Possibly it’s been cleaned previously with a solution not meant for that particular type of flooring? It possibly needs replacing. The house was quite cold on our arrival and no instructions were available re the heating controls but after a call to Sykes, this was resolved very quickly.

  • "Beautiful holiday home."

    Great floor plan to suit the whole family. Beds are all super comfy, so good to have an ensuite upstairs, very light and bright house with plenty of room and spacious. Met the owners, lovely couple, very helpful and have just put in a new hot water boiler. Water is hot, showers and bath tub all working great. Loved our stay so much will book again. And so good to have parking right out the front with easy access to house, great fenced yard and lovely entertaining area outside, beautiful quiet street and so close to shops and pubs at Burford only 2 min drive or 15 min casual walk. Excellent 5 Stars from our whole family.
