Yew Tree Farm

Absolutely wonderful stay- thank you!

This accommodation was perfect for our family gathering to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary.

We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack and flowers. There were 15 of us including 8 grandchildren aged from 3 to 19. The number of bedrooms and beds worked for us and there were still some to spare. The beds were comfortable and towels and toiletries were provided. We were lucky enough to be visiting in 1/2 term during a heat wave so some of the bedrooms were very hot but there were some fans available. Some reviews mention the lack of showers. Our 5 boys downstairs were able to use the bathroom on the 1st floor which also doubled as an ensuite to our bedroom. Those on the top floor also used our shower as they only had a bath. There was one other bedroom on the 1st floor that had an ensuite which included a bath and shower. Overall we did not have a problem. We cooked most days and the kitchen was very well equipped. As it was summer the Aga was not in use but we managed with the electric cooker that was available. An extra kettle would have been useful. Please note there is a double fridge under the counter in the kitchen and another single in the utility room. There is the use of a tall freezer in the nearby garage. This is not entirely clear in the description and useful to know. The utility room provided a washing machine and tumble drier and lots of towels to use with the hot tub. We tried the hot tub briefly but was far too hot to endure in a heat wave! There was a large drive which at times was also used by people visiting the farm. There is a spacious garden at the back and a lawn to the side which was perfect for cricket and football. The garden furniture is a little tired and it would have been really useful to have a sun umbrella and maybe cushions for the chairs. There is a gas bbq. The dining room is a magnificent room with a gorgeous long table. It is however, a little way from the kitchen but this was not a problem for us as we ate outside most of the time. There is extra seating and another table off the kitchen in the conservatory but again because of the heat we did not use this except early morning and evening for crafts. The park just over the road was a big hit with the children. And I would highly reccomend the Bull and Butcher pub in the village. We had a wonderful meal there on the last evening and the staff couldnt have been more friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful celebratory week in Yew Tree Farm and would definitely hope to return.

A nice place with lovely gardens.

Some issues with difficulty in temperature control in some showers, and the plug in the downstairs toilet basin was missing. Nice welcome pack and good WiFi. The information about dogs at the property suggests they have to stay in the kitchen or utility room, which we found unrealistic. This was not specified in the online information.

Unfortunately, when we arrived the cleaners were still at the property.

The cleaners were very polite and explained that the last guests had left the house in a mess. As we unpacked the car there was a bag of dog poo left on the driveway. In the kitchen, cupboards were (mainly cooking equipment) unorganised and not clean. One of the fridge was dirty, with something spilt in the freezer. We messaged the number and straight away the cleaners returned to fix the issues. However, it meant our holiday did not start straight away as we had people coming in and out of the property to sort the issues. The staff acted to fix the issue quickly, but it was a shame to start the holiday this way. Clean bedrooms, with towels. Lovely location. Kids loved the park! We have contacted Sykes to log a complaint but have had no reply yet.

Lovely house with a great set up for big groups or families getting together.

We had a really lovely stay. A house manual would be a useful addition as some things weren't clear and we discovered some elements right at the end of our stay (like an extra freezer in the garage!) that would have been useful to know from the start. But the owner was very communicative when we asked things and I'd stay there again for sure.

The house is generally comfortable, very clean and a generous supply of towels.

Lots of saucepans, but the electric cooker (4 rings) is NOT adequate for the potential number of guests. The Aga should have been started at this cooler time of year. More tea towels would be useful. Another note: to service the downstairs 2 bedrooms (which combined serve up to 5 people) a downstairs shower would be helpful. There is a downstairs toilet but there should really be a shower, especially as we were asked to shower before using the hot tub. It's mean-spirited to ask guests to clear the dish-washer before they leave, especially as it doesn't have an ultra fast cycle.

Beautiful location in small village. Plenty of space inside and out. All amenities provided and perfect for large groups

Lovely house, great location and large gardens for a family get together.

Kitchen well equipped & plenty of fridge and freezer space (although previous reviews had said there wasn't!). Facilities around the house good, although it would have been nice to have a shower over the bath in the top floor bathroom, so that we weren't all sharing the showers (just our preference for a large group with lots of children). The 'Welcome Pack' and fresh flowers was a really nice thought. Beds comfortable, plenty of toiletries in bathrooms and loads of towels available, especially for the outside hot tub. We had a great stay celebrating my husband's 70th. Thank you.

Excellent stay.

Well equipped place and all the rooms were hotel standard. Very friendly staff dropped by to say we didn’t have to rush our check out. Definitely recommend!

Yew Tree Farm was perfect for our family celebration and there were many generous touches… the welcome basket, unlimited towels, hot tub always on, products in the bathrooms, well stocked kitchen etc.

There were only two things that were less than perfect, one was the unreliable internet and phone connection which you probably can’t do anything about, and the other was fridge / freezer space. Thank you so much too for your friendly contact before our arrival. Best wishes Jane Curtis.

Wonderful property with great facilities and outside space.

Location was easy to find, with bonus of play park and pub nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay at Yew Tree Farm, which we booked for a family holiday.

The facilities were excellent and just as shown in the pictures. The kitchen was very well equipped. The hot tub was on for when we arrived which was much appreciated. I would highly recommend!

Couldn't be better for out large family

Our stay was very special and absolutely perfect for a 30th birthday weekend getaway with our friends.

Even though it's a very large house, the whole place felt very warm and cosy and welcoming. The basket of goodies we received upon arrival was a really lovely touch and much appreciated. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful, and we greatly enjoyed the added Christmas decor. The decoration on the Christmas trees were a little strange and haphazard but it was still nice to have them there! The kitchen was very well supplied which made cooking very easy, but we did have a number of issues with the dishwasher not working properly. We were unable to find a vacuum cleaner, though we aren't sure whether it was just difficult to find or if there wasn't one available on site. The starter for the wood burning stove was a nice touch as well, though it could have done with a little more paper/cardboard/ kindling and less plastic. Bathrooms and bedrooms were all very clean, tidy and spacious. Parking was occasionally shared with the farm during the week which wasn't an issue for us as the majority of our party arrived on the weekend once they left. A highlight was meeting the lovely cat from the farm who was very friendly and sweet. We would definitely come back again for a special occasion or cosy winter getaway. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a fabulous time.

The property was very spacious, warm and well appointed. It had a homely feel and a brilliant time was had. Some of my crazy friends even used the hot tub in late November! The owner was very helpful, especially when I left an item behind. He also provided a lovely welcome hamper which was appreciated. An important note is that there is a toilet on the ground floor. I thought that important to note as I thought there wasn’t, so was very happy to find that as we were using both downstairs bedrooms. Highly recommended this property. It made my 50th Birthday celebrations very special indeed.

This is a great property for a gathering, plenty of communal spaces, spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space.

Clean bathrooms with toiletries. A great kitchen area with everything that we needed. The main dining room is a really lovely space but there is a short walk between this room and the kitchen. A minor point but it would have been nice to know from the listing that someone would be staying in the annex whilst we were using the property.

It was fantastic to stay at Yew Tree, we were attending a wedding in Banbury and extended to make this a great family holiday and get together.

Rooms were lovely, lots of space and the home was well equipped for us. We had fun playing games in the garden. Thank you

Lovely stay at this wonderful house.

Booked for a 70th birthday celebration. Plenty of space in the house and gardens for 11 adults, 3 children and a baby! Perfect to either stay at home or travel to local attractions. Play park for the children only a couple of minutes down the road. They also enjoyed feeding the farm animals. Thank you Sharon! Only negatives were that the garden furniture was a bit 'tired' although we managed to get enough chairs together to eat outside. And there were no instructions for the hot tub, which was quite hot as we had really hot days when we were there.

Having just spent the weekend at Yew Tree Farm with family and friends, I can only highly recommend.

It is a huge house and beautiful gardens with a hot tub that was already for us on arrival. A welcome hamper was a lovely touch from the owner, as were the fresh flowers. He also allowed us an early check-in, which we were grateful for, as were all arriving from various locations. All the bedrooms are really spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are clean with the added touch of soaps and hand creams with loads of towels. One downside is an extra, more central bathroom, would be an advantage, especially downstairs. We were having to share the ensuite one's but this didn't spoil our stay. The kitchen and conservatory were lovely and functional with the great airy and light dining room a perfect central area for all being together. Anyone wanting a bit of quiet time, the 'red' lounge served them well. I contacted the owner before arriving to ask if there were any fans in the property to which he promptly replied to say there weren't. However, he had obviously gone out of his way to obtain several and placed them throughout the house before our arrival! Thank you Yew Tree Farm for helping us having an amazing weekend and wouldn't hesitate in returning

We had the most amazing stay at yew tree farm, the house was just perfect for what we wanted and theo the host was just brilliant- nothing was to much trouble thank you very much

We were a family group of four generations, ages ranging from 1 to 82!

We have just enjoyed a lovely week's holiday at Yew Tree Farm. We found the accommodation to be comfortable and clean. There were plenty of towels provided for all the rooms, and for the use of the hot tub. The kitchen was very well equipped with large cooking pots and pans, which is essential for large groups such as ours. The only negatives for us was no ground floor en-suite for our oldest member, and a problem with the dishwasher drawer constantly coming off the rail. But all in all we had a wonderful holiday!!

A Lovely Stay with Some Room for Improvement We recently stayed at Yew Tree Farm for a hen weekend and overall, it was a delightful experience.

Theo was welcoming and even offered us a later check out which was very nice. The house provided a great space for our group, however, there were a few issues that need attention. 1. Broken Dishwasher Rack: Unfortunately, the dishwasher rack was broken. It made cleaning up after meals a bit challenging. We hope this can be fixed for future guests. 2. Faulty Sink Covered with Tape: We noticed that the sink had some issues and was covered with tape. While it didn’t affect our stay significantly, it would be better if this were properly repaired as it makes the kitchen look a little untidy. 3. Washing Up from Previous Guests: When we arrived we noticed that the dishes from previous guests hadn’t been tidied away. 4. Hot Tub Concerns: The hot tub felt gritty, and it seemed like the chlorine tablet hadn’t dissolved properly. 5. Damp Smell in the Master Bedroom: A previous review also mentioned a damp smell in the master bedroom. Addressing this issue would greatly enhance the overall comfort of the stay. We also feel that it would be useful if one or two more of the rooms had twin beds instead of all being doubles. Despite these minor hiccups, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. We definitely recommend visiting the pub (The Bull and Butcher) which is across the green for a Sunday roast. We also visited Sunnyhill Vineyard which is a 30 minute drive from the house and had a really lovely time there. It is family run and they were very friendly and the alpacas a delight.

We had a great stay, were very comfortable and felt that the house was very easy to live in, despite our large party.

We much enjoyed the hot tub which everyone went in at some point. There were a few issues with the dishwasher in that some of the racks were a bit broken and the runners wouldn't stay on, but we managed. We appreciated that the house was well stocked with extras like salt and pepper, sauces, plastic storge bags and kitchen roll. Extras that are so often forgotten. Thank you for everything and the warm welcome. We will certainly consider rebooking at another time.

We very much appreciated the goodies to welcome us- flowers, bread, eggs, wine and milk . Theo was helpful when we needed him and our family loved the hot tub.

Lovely house in a great spot with the farm at the back of the property which is lovely to be able to go and visit.

House was spotless and great for entertaining a large amount of people, pub across the road provides great food and the play area is awesome for kids. Hosts were incredibly kind, the Easter Eggs for the little girl with us was a lovely touch. One word of warning for future visitors is that although advertised as dog friendly, there is a cat who frequently visits the property - we saw him every day we were there. My dog is not cat friendly and luckily I managed to chase the cat away before my dog saw him but it would not have ended well if the two had come face to face - I would not suggest staying here if your dog doesn't get on with cats.

Brilliant place to stay.

Owners are extremely helpful. Wonderful greetings package (especially the eggs!). Fantastic gardens. Loads of space in the house. Enough white appliances to care for everyone. House was warm in March. Pub close by. Great place.

The welcome was exceptional with a generous hamper, fresh flowers in many of the rooms and decorated for Christmas' It was warm and comfotable, with plenty of logs for an open fire.

The sitting room was large enough for 18 to play familly games or just relax.. The beds were all comfortable and the rooms all interestingly decorated with lots of African artifacts.Plenty of soft towels and toilet rolls. plus the extra towels for the hottub that the grandchhildren enjoyed. The grounds were well laid and out and will be perfectfor summer visitors. Having the farm to visit was a bonus and the hospitality of the family. Theo was exceptioaly helpful and friendly. Thank you, we felt at home.

We had a great stay at yew tree farm.

There was no negative comments that any of the families had. With a horde of children in tow the caretaker on site was amazing in showing them the animals in the farm at the back of the property and helping with any requests or problems we had promptly. Close to the the property there is a great adventure playground and local pub within a short walk We would definitely recommend this property those with young children.

This is a lovely property that was perfect for celebrating my daughter's 30th birthday with family and friends.

It is nicely decorated with 8 good sized bedrooms, 2 with ensuite, and a delightful galleried dining room with a table to seat 18 people. We arrived to see beautiful flowers and a big welcome basket when we opened the front door, which was a nice touch, and the place was generally well provided for. Theo, the owner's brother, lives in the grounds and couldn't have been more helpful. I would highly recommend Yew Tree Farm.
