“We were kept awake every night of our 4 night stay by a pack of barking dogs, so not quite the quiet countryside location the property is described as being in.”
This really did have a huge negative effect on our stay which we had booked to celebrate my Mum's 70th birthday, we were absolutely shattered when left the property and not for the right reasons.
The property itself could do with some refurbishments as it is looking tired in places. The beds are very uncomfortable and I was disappointed to see they were made up with mismatched bedding. The showers are tiny and towels provided are looking worn and are small.
The kitchen lighting is awful, it is very hard to see what you are doing in the evening when cooking as there are no under cabinet lights, which teamed with a black work top, black tiles and poor ceiling lights makes cooking tricky. The fridge/freezer provided is very small for the size of the property. The lounge/dining area could do with more lamps or a dimmer switch as the lighting is very harsh.
I was disappointed that the owner refused any form of refund for the inconvenience caused by the barking dogs, especially as they have obviously had this problem before due to other feedback comments, which unfortunately came online after we had booked.
