  • "A lovely, well equipped Barn."

    Beds were very comfortable & clean. We had a lovely relaxing break with a number of places to visit within 1/2 hour car journey. Our dogs just loved running in the enclosed rear garden. Having the Fox & Hounds pub just across the road serving lovely food at very reasonable prices was a bonus & very dog friendly. Louise was friendly & helpful but not intrusive. The Barn is a credit to Louise & Jim. We would definitely return. The welcome goodies were also very much appreciated.

  • "What a very pleasant surprise when we arrived."

    A beautiful, light, spacious place that was so comfortable for all of us. Everything we needed was available with8n the property. The surrounding areas are beautiful too and easy to pop along to. This is a place we will definitely return to. Thank you.

  • "Spotlessly clean and comfortable the Barn is the perfect getaway."

    Louise and Jim the owners go to great lengths to ensure your comfort. The village has two pubs, two shops, a cafe and a hairdressers and is perfectly situated for visits to Bath, Lacock, Bristol, Bradford on Avon, Corsham etc.

  • "Had a lovely stay in a lovely setting."

    Everything was perfect, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Bedding is the best quality and the beds are very comfortable. Every small detail has been thought of in the kitchen, plenty of plates, glasses, cups and saucepans etc!. The owner Louise even left Milk, butter, jam and lovely uncut bread, such a nice touch when you arrive! The grounds are lovely and dog friendly!. Pub directly across the road for food, although we didn't eat as it said opens at 4pm so we went in, but they don't serve food until 6pm, so we went to another pub. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Daubneys barn, and hope to return. Real home from home!!

    The cottage is on a beautiful setting, absolutely spotless and filled with little touches (bread, milk, butter) that make a stay easier. Good location for exploring surrounding area.

  • "Great place, lovely and quiet and comfortable."

    Had all the essentials we needed for our 3 night stay and a lovely welcome package too. Beds and duvets/pillows were really comfortable which was a welcome bonus (not the usual firm pillows). Location was perfect for us to explore the area. Would happily come again.

  • "The Barn at Daubeneys is lovely."

    On arrival we were greeted by the owners Louise and Jim who were very welcoming and the barn was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. It’s in a very peaceful location and the local shop and Post Office were well stocked for emergency supplies. We used both pubs but only sat in the garden taking advantage of the nice weather. The pop up catering van ‘Only Fools and Morsels’ at the Six Bells is definitely worth trying, the food is delicious. We didn’t venture out far as we wanted a week of pure relaxation and that’s exactly what we got, we just did some nice local walks taking in the beautiful scenery.

The property

The Barn at Daubeneys offers open-plan living in the heart of a beautiful village surrounded by countryside views to admire, making it a lovely destination for a family or a group of friends.

If you don't fancy cooking nearby eateries include The Fox & Hounds for hearty pub grub, the beautiful White Hart at Ford or The Walled Garden at the luxurious Lucknam Park.

Venture further afield and head to Bath to the ancient Roman Baths with a guided tour, take in the stunning historic Abbey or take a walk along Pulteney Bridge.

The local area boasts some stunning villages and towns such Castle Coombe, often voted the prettiest village in England, Corsham with its lovely high street with plenty of pubs, cafes and shops, Lacock and Dyrham with their National Trust properties, beautiful Bradford on Avon and the pleasant market towns of Devizes and Chippenham.

Bristol is just 30 minutes away but has plenty to do for another great day out for everyone.

Bristol Harbourside is home to Brunel’s SS Great Britain, lots of amazing pubs and restaurants, or even take a Banksy walking tour.

Or visit the Bristol Aquarium, Bristol Zoo Project and Aerospace Bristol museum.

COLERNE

Corsham 5.5 miles; Chippenham 8 miles; Bath 8 miles.

The village of Colerne is situated in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in west Wiltshire, very close to the spot where the three counties of Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire meet, so the perfect location to explore all three counties within easy reach of highlights such as Stonehenge, Avebury, Salisbury, Cheddar Gorge, Westonbirt Arboretum plus easy access to the centre of the Cotswolds.

The village has two pubs The Fox and Hounds and The Six Bells, two shops, a Post Office and a village pop up café which is open Wednesdays and Fridays. The cafe serves breakfast, sandwiches and amazing cakes - not to be missed! The Six Bells often has pop up food trucks which offer delicious food at the weekends. There are regular buses to nearby Bath from the village, but Bath’s Park and Ride is also easily accessible. The local walks from the doorstep are stunning and plentiful for keen walkers or just to stroll with dogs.
