  • "We loved our stay at the White Roses!"

This is the second time we have been, and we plan to come again. We particularly love the garden - the "garden of Eden" we like to call it! The white roses has everything you would want and need. Thank you

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, you are welcome back anytime Property Owner

  • "Lovely, very spacious property."

Perfect for 15 ppl. The only let down is lack of pressure in the showers.

Thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "White Roses was a delight to stay in."

The location was fab, so much to do and also great eateries nearby. It is comfortable and warm, lovely for families and a big garden to play. The owners are very responsive to any problems. The only slight downside is the close proximity to A40, which can be a bit noisy. But otherwise super.

Thank you for the lovely feedback, we hope you choose to book with us again. Property Owner

Very spacious property. No issues. Very happy. Had a great time. Would visit again. Situated in a very scenic area as well - with lots to do for all (we were aged from 1 - 85).

  • "We had a wonderful stay at white roses."

In particular, we enjoyed the beautiful garden. The kitchen was nice and big and well equipped, and had a good dishwasher which is quite rare. Mariane is a lovely host. We would stay here again for sure. The only suggestion is to please not be so stingy with the toilet paper. Thank you

Thank you for the nice feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay. point taken about the toilet paper, we will make sure the cleaners leave more rolls for future guests Property Owner

  • "The property was pleasant and in a wonderful location."

The outside area could have done with a bit more care. Garden large and would have been more useful if the grass was less than a foot tall. The oven on the left never reached the right temperature so cooking a roast for 14 people was a bit of a gamble. Had to keek swapping food from one oven to the other. Luckily it all turned out fine with careful monitoring. There was a hole in the wall in one of the bedrooms where the curtain pole should have attached so we couldn’t draw the curtain. Review sounds terrible but with these problems fixed I would certainly recommend it. The bread was delicious. Thank you.

Hello, I am very sorry to read that you have had a couple of issues during your stay at White Roses but glad it hasn’t dampened your experience much. - we started cutting the grass just after your visit mid May and do so every week, again sorry for the tall grass - the curtain pole fixing broke during the week prior to your arrival while other guests stayed in and although we brought a carpenter to fix this before your arrival due to the old nature of the property he needed to come withstronger material to ensure the fixing would be sturdy enough. This was fixed and secured just after your visit. - the oven is only a year old and we have had it checked by an engineer. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you will return in the near future. Many thanks Property Owner

  • "We had such a wonderful time at White Roses, we were 10 in total, 2 families, all adults."

There was plenty of space. The kitchen is large and seated us comfortably and is very well stocked with crockery, pans and utensils. 10 of us could sit in the sitting room for games and the additional conservatory sitting room provided break-away space. There are fabulous walks and a well stocked shop across the road. It’s really quiet despite being so close to A40. It suited the needs of our group perfectly and would definitely come back.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. We are pleased you had an enjoyable stay at White and hope you will visit again soon. Many thanks Mariane and Gary Property Owner

  • "A group of 10 of us stayed here and absolutely loved the place."

Rooms were clean and spacious and the welcome hamper of local produce was a really lovely touch! Check-in and check-out out was really straightforward with the owner and she was really quick to respond to any questions in the run up to our arrival. The house is pretty much straight off the dual carriageway but we weren’t disturbed by traffic noise really, and the shop round the corner was really well-stocked with everything you could need during your stay. It was only a 20 minute walk to Symonds Yat and felt very central for walks, pubs, attractions and activities. Would definitely stay here again :-)

Thank you very much for the feedback Rebecca, so glad you had a good time at White Roses. Please come again Property Owner

  • "Lovely stay in a lovely property."

Clean throughout and plenty of space to relax either with or away from the rest of your party. Location is ideal for Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, both lovely towns. We also visited the campsite, open to all, where the children enjoyed an afternoon at the amusement arcade. A lovely few days enjoyed by all young and old and a four legged friend.

Thank you for your lovely comments, it was a pleasure having such pleasant guests at White Roses. Property Owner

White Roses gave us the wonderful space, comfort and of course location to enjoy a splendid few days. Little village shop round the corner also enabled us to pick up the few items we forgot! Oh and our doggie loved it too!

About the location

MONMOUTH

Ross-on-Wye 10 miles; Usk, 14.5 miles; Abergavenny 18.5 miles.

An intriguing market town on the border between Wales and England and close to the exceptional Offa’s Dyke, this wonderful town combines old and new, from the old castle ruins to the vibrant weekly market. Located at the confluence of 3 rivers – the Wye, the Monnow and the Trothy, it is an excellent base to enjoy river boating, scenic walks and a little shopping too, or to sit and relax on the edge of the river and watch the rowers who regularly race and practise their skills. Monmouth is most famous as the birthplace of Henry V and offers the opportunity to see historic buildings, the preserved medieval 13th century bridge over the river Monnow (the only one of its kind in Britain) and the famous Nelson Garden. This is truly a small town with a huge array of interesting sights to visit. The surrounding areas are steeped in history too and short drives will take you to nearby Usk, Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye and even into the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
