Tump Cottage

Tump Cottage exceeded our expectations and was the perfect place to stay for a short break.

Tump Cottage was lovely, cosy, and comfortable for us and our dog.

With the added benefit of an EV charger on-site. Our stay was stress free. We plan to visit again soon, as it is a great base to explore the surrounding area from.

We had an issue with the cooker hood,it was very noisy but was to be dealt with as soon as the part was available.

The key safety box was broken but this was dealt with promptly. What a perfect location to unwind and relax. From the resident doves to wandering chickens and even a bird decided to inspect our living accommodation! From Westonbirt arboretum to Woodchester Park and not forgetting The Farmer’s Dog and Didley Squat Farm and many more places to be seen on our next visit. We will be back!

So this is our second visit to Bay Tree Farm and Tump cottage is the middle of the three, but you would not really know it as they are so well insulated.

It was a great advantage getting our provisions delivered, but please advise your service that Bay Tree Farm is part of the address. A great spot to chill and relax because it is so quiet! Only the noise of the dawn chorus was audible for several hours in the morning and most of the afternoon and again in to the evening. A truly tranquil spot to stay, and a great base to explore the Cotswolds. Have already booked our third stay, we love it so much!

We had a lovely stay at Tump Cottage over the Christmas period and we found Jon and his family extremely friendly and helpful.

The cottage was beautiful and we enjoyed staying in such a lovely village.

Overall the cottage is well equipped however the bed and pillows we found extremely uncomfortable.

Mattress is very firm and pillows look fluffy and soft but weren’t. Left a day early due to being unable to sleep. Maybe too rural for us too with a lack of a local shop and also local pub closed too. Listing said 3 pubs within 3 miles but only 2 of them are open. Heating was difficult to control it was either too hot or too cold and then heat just rises (naturally) and makes the bed area too warm. Good of you want an extreme rural holiday get away with a dog and bringing own food/groceries but if relying on local shops etc is difficult.

We absolutely loved it at Tump Cottage.

It was a last minute decision on the Thursday night, and booked for the following day. Lovely little village with lots of walks with the dog, over stiles and across fields. Did a 'mountain climb' in Uley, around Uley Bury iron age hill fort, which is only about 5 minutes drive away from Tump Cottage. Circular walk from Uley Church, and met quite a few hikers doing the same walk and a few just walking for leisure, like us. The Cottage was perfect, it had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the biscuits, crisps and cereal. We always take some of our own essentials (bread, milk etc) because you never know when you get to a place, whether the local shops will be open or whether you get there too late to get to a shop. The farm is lovely, chickens roaming around freely and doves in the barn. The lovely lady who does the day to day running of the cottages was really friendly and helpful and literally lives opposite, so no stress about trying to get hold of anyone if there were any problems. We would definitely recommend Tump Cottage.

Tump cottage I really enjoyed my stay at the cottage.

The property had beer in an ideal rural location just as I wanted having 2 dogs and having access to many public foot paths and beautiful walks. The property is small but perfect and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.

We loved our stay at Tump Cottage, very comfortable, clean and lovely surroundings, although we were unlucky with the weather, we found plenty to see and lovely walks, our dogs enjoyed it too.

The property itself is lovely and was perfect for my husband, myself and our 2 small dogs.

The bed was relatively comfortable and the place was fairly well equipped. I did have to spray the bathroom with a mould cleaner as the grout near the shower was covered with black mould and also we had to wash the cups and cutlery as they were still dirty. The.microwave has seen better days and really needs replacing. These, on the whole, were minor issues and didn’t affect the enjoyment of our stay.

Very well presented accomodation and ideally located for trips to other villages etc

Absolutely beautiful cottage.

Everything provided, including washing up liquid, sponge and tea towels, as well as coffee, tea and sugar, that was a lovely surprise, we had taken our own milk though. Kitchen was well equipped, and enjoyed the welcoming biscuits, crisps and cereal. The bed was very comfortable and after very long walks, slept really well. A great location for Gloucester, Cheltenham and the main village we wanted to visit, Castle Coombe. Our 2 dogs enjoyed their stay, and lots of walks in the local area. The Woodchester park was awesome, if a bit muddy, but just what we needed. -- We will definately be back. We met the owners a couple of times -- extremely helpful and very friendly, also the was lovely sitting out side the cottage in the evening and watching the chickens wander about and come to investigate what we were up to - so cute.

The cottage is beautiful and so peaceful.

There is everything you could possible need provided. There are a lot of amazing walks to go on immediately available from the door step and a bus which runs regularly just down the road. We had 2 dogs who loved the little cottage and everyone we met were so friendly and welcoming.

The property conversion is nicely done, a beautiful space in good condition.

Location also great to explore local walks and towns. However, dogs have to be on leads due to free roaming chickens. If we'd known beforehand we wouldn't have booked; ended up leaving early as couldn't relax and it wasn't much fun for the dogs.

We had a very nice stay in a loveley surounding!

If we could make one comment, we would have liked some chairs to sit on outside instead of the bench which is not very comfortable when seated long time. Apart from that,

The property is set in a lovely village, it very well designed, cosy and has everything you need.

The cottage has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and served our purpose perfectly .

The property is well equipped for all your needs and is very toasty and comfortable . There where a few things that needed replacing/repairing but that was just cosmetic .overall lovely little place to stay... our two little dogs thoroughly enjoyed it...lots of walks around the vicinity.
