  • “We stayed at buttercups 8th-15th August 2020.”

From the moment we arrived it was perfect. The owners, Anne and Stewart had left us scones with Jam and cream and a selection of tea and coffee and milk which was a lovely touch. From the moment we arrived it was perfect. The owners, Anne and Stewart had left us scones with Jam and cream and a selection of tea and coffee and milk which was a lovely touch. They live in the house next door but they respect your privacy.....however they are there for you should you need anything (like a last minute paddle boarding booking!). Buttercups is a beautiful, pristine holiday home, everything appeared to be brand new and it had everything you could need in a holiday home. The gardens are lovely and there was plenty of space to play boules or have a kick about. The hot tub was an added bonus and was used frequently by us after long walks, bike rides or activities on the nearby lakes. Buttercups is in a very peaceful location (2 lovely pubs within walking distance) but is very central if you want to get out and about like we did. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and I have no doubt we will return. Thanks to Anne and Stewart for a great week in Buttercups.

The property

“Buttercups” at Midway is a delightful, quirky annexe situated in Kington, a peaceful village in the depths of the Worcestershire countryside.

Kington is situated between Worcester and Stratford on Avon and is 3.3 miles from Inkberrow, the home of The Archers and in close reach of the ancient market town of Pershore with its excellent amenities.

It is ideally placed as an escape for couples or a family of four and is less than an hour’s drive from Birmingham Airport. The property is in easy reach of the Cotswolds, Bredon Hill and the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

In the immediate locality there are many footpaths and walks through woodland and open countryside and the area is popular with cyclists.

The owners are able to offer guided walks and cycle rides on request, subject to availability. Kington is close to a range of sports facilities including Rivers, an excellent Leisure Centre and pool in Pershore, the open air Lido at Droitwich, tennis courts at Inkberrow, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and archery at Aztec Watersports near Pershore and also at Upton Warren near Droitwich.

Redpoint Climbing Centre in Worcester and Go Ape in the Wyre Forest are both in easy reach.

For wee ones there is a fabulous soft play centre six miles away in Feckenham. Within an hour or so attractions include the Cotswold Water Park, the West Midlands Safari Park, the Cotswold Wildlife Park, the Cotswold Farm Park, Little Owl Farm Park, the Severn Valley Railway, Drayton Manor Park and The Snowdome at Tamworth. Shoppers are in easy reach of excellent centres such as Cheltenham, Touchwood at Solihull and of course Birmingham - all 25 miles from Buttercups.

Locally the Jinny Ring Craft Centre is only 5 miles from Buttercups and in the village of Kington there is Simply Alpaca and a stained glass workshop.

The owners are happy to arrange workshops with these and other local crafts and arts facilities by prior request.

The property is also an ideal location for visits, for example to Cheltenham Races, NEC events, the Three Choirs Festival, Worcestershire and Warwickshire Cricket matches and Worcester Warriors Premiership Rugby. Buttercups is set in the grounds of the owner’s home.

The annexe has its own patio area in the orchards, a great spot to sit and have a coffee to start the day.

There is also a hot tub on the patio where you can relax with a prosecco and watch the stars, late into the evening.
