"Our second holiday at Loxter Villas."
The house is spotlessly clean, has everything we could have needed and is very comfortable. The surrounding area is very beautiful and we enjoyed walks from the doorstep. Herefordshire in the spring is a joy with the blossom in the orchards and the wild flowers. Our visitor's dog loved the paddock and we enjoyed the garden and the peaceful surroundings. We visited 2 National Trust properties just a short drive away and an excellent little garden centre close by. We can thoroughly recommend this holiday home.

"Lovely cottage and we were wanting for nothing."
Everything from kitchen ware and utensils, to fire wood and kindling was catered for. Comfortable, clean and a lovely quiet location, the paddock for the dog was amazing and so many walks from the property.
A pub within walking distance, a bus stop almost across the road, with one going to Ledbury and the other to Malvern.
Highly recommend staying here, the welcome basket and card was a lovely touch

"We stayed at the cottage for 3 nights over Christmas with our toddler and dog."
We couldn't have asked for a nicer place! The cottage is even more beautiful in real life, and we so appreciated the Christmas decorations that made it feel really festive.
The owners have thought of everything - from kitchen essentials like oil, salt & pepper, washing up liquid, bin bags etc, to enough loo rolls in the bathroom!
The garden and adjoining paddock were ideal for our dog, and there are easy dog walking routes nearby.
Jess was really easy to reach and quick to respond whenever we needed anything.
We've already recommended the cottage to several friends. Book this place, you'll love it!
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We’re really glad you enjoyed your Christmas break and found the things you needed in the cottage. You were brilliant guests and thank you for recommending the cottage to your friends. Best wishes, Jess and James

"Superb accommodation fitted out to a high standard."
Everything we wanted was there and the welcome basket and the filled log basket was very much appreciated.
The location being close to Ledbury was great and although we weren't looking to do much in the way of country walks the accessibility of the Malvern Hills and Eastnor Deer park makes it ideal for those who would like to do so. We would have no hesitation in booking this accommodation again and thanks to Jess and James for providing such a lovely stay..

"A beautiful ,cosy, well equipped cottage in a lovely setting with a paddock which was enjoyed by our dog."
The welcome pack was much appreciated thank you and we had a wonderful holiday.
The only downside to the property is the fact that there is only an en suite (shower, sink, toilet) in one of the double bedrooms and no main bathroom or other toilet. Also, something that was out of the control of the owners, we were disturbed one night by 2 tankers which arrived outside the property after 11 p.m. and didn't leave until after 1 a.m. We think they were pumping water into a grid in the road, through a water pipe and up the hill opposite into a reservoir. It certainly made a racket as did the music coming from one of the vehicles. A couple of hours of noise did not spoil the holiday and it may not be a regular occurrence but it would have been good to have been forewarned by the water company.
We’re glad that you all enjoyed your stay in the cottage.
We’ve tried to be really transparent about the limitations of the bathroom in the information about the property but if you feel this can be made clearer please do let us know as we don’t want to disappoint guests.
We’re sorry about the tanker. This is something that affected one other guest during the really hot weather this summer but hasn’t occurred in previous years. We’ve raised it with the water company again and they’ve advised that they have moved some of the demand away from that reservoir and if it does ever need refilling, have added notes to do it within working hours. We are sorry for the disturbance this caused.
Thank you again for your feedback and we’re glad your holiday was overall a success.

"I really wanted to leave this property a glowing review but unfortunately half of our stay was completely ruined by noise disturbance and an old bed breaking."
The owners kindly offered us a partial refund to compensate us for the issues, but this was just words as they broke our good faith the moment we had left. The matter was considered settled but the owners have tried weaselling out their offer ever since we’d checked out. The owners also tried to place blame at our feet for a blatant ware and tear fault with an old bed that they openly admitted needed replacing when coming to fix the bed, they were very apologetic about it and even brought us round a bottle of wine to say sorry. Times must be hard to not want to make good on the issues raised especially when the owner offered compensation. It leaves a bitter taste! Had this been honoured my review would be very different as we thought the owners were very responsive and helpful during our stay. We even left a thank you gift to show our good faith and thanks despite everything. The welcome basket they left was a lovely touch and we loved the first half of our stay, as the cottage is charming. Unfortunately it’s situated right next to a main water reservoir that covers the local area and during hot weather spells the water company rock up with water tankers in the early hours to refill, no prior warning or anything! We booked our stay for restbite and even extended our initial booking based on the first few days being so lovely. Sadly, literally the evening of the day we extended we had issues and I bitterly regret now doing this, as the owners have come across two faced in how they’ve handled the matters post checkout. I reached out to the owners to discuss and have given them ample time to think about their tact before posting this review but unfortunately this is where we are. The matter now sits with Sykes Cottages for resolution.
Thank you for your feedback. We're genuinely sorry that your experience did not meet expectations, particularly after what began as a very positive stay. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the cottage, the welcome basket, and the initial part of your visit.
We’d like to clarify that the issue with the bed was addressed promptly during your stay. We responded quickly, repaired the fault, and offered a sincere apology along with a gesture of goodwill. At the time, this was accepted in good faith, and no further concerns were raised until after departure.
We understand that post-stay expectations can sometimes differ, but we must respectfully disagree with the suggestion that we have acted dishonestly. We have been responsive throughout and have made every effort to resolve matters fairly. We did offer a partial refund due to the noise disturbance (outside of our control), however, once the damage to the bed and the kitchen worktop were brought to light, we were severely out of pocket, so decided rather than charge you, to just call it quits, in an effort to acknowledge the challenges you had during the stay. We are sorry you feel this way and have decided to write such negative things about us, when our proposed resolution was a fair and balanced one.
We appreciate all feedback and take it seriously, but we also believe it’s important to present a fair and accurate account of events. Thank you again for your comments, and we wish you well in your future travels.

"This cottage is truly a gem set in the lushest surrounding countryside."
Inside you will find the most pretty well presented and comfortable interiors. It had everything and more from the delightful welcome pack to all the essentials needed for our stay. Outside the garden is lovely and we enjoyed the barbecue provided(again with everything provided). The cottage is a true retreat and we will never forget waking every morning to the chorus of birdsong which lasted all day. We will never forget our stay at Loxter cottage so thank you very much to Jess and James. And to anyone thinking of booking “ what are you waiting for” you’ll not be disappointed as it is truly an enchanting place.
We’re so glad you had a lovely stay and were able to appreciate the things that we love about it too. It is a special place! Thank you for the kind feedback.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage."
The standard of the cottage was high. It had everything that we required for a comfortable stay.
There were lovely walks around the village and the nearby town of Ledbury had a plethora of independent shops which were good to browse around. There are lots of places to visit in the area.
We will definitely return for another stay.
We’re glad you had a lovely stay and managed to explore the local area. We look forward to welcoming you back another time. Jess and James
