  • "Having stayed in many holiday cottages this is by far the nicest ."

Everything you could need , comfortable beds , good parking , large rooms , simple to use showers , utilities and TVs - usually things that let holiday cottages down . The location is perfect and the views are great . Eleanor , the owner , met us with a welcome food starter pack and tips on touristy places to visit . Communication with Eleanor was excellent , texts and phone calls always answered . All in all we had a brilliant first visit to Northern Ireland .

Everything provided plus a nice welcome basket from Eleanor. Shops only a mile away in Ballycastle. Many attractions close by, we stayed for a week but needed 2 so we could see more of this beautiful area.

  • "We contacted Eleanor, the property owner prior to our arrival at the cottage and arranged our meeting time."

We were shown around the cottage and all the facilities available, including how to light the wood burner stove. Eleanor had also left us a welcome grocery starter hamper, including home made bread & marmalade. The cottage is very well presented and very well equipped, plenty of parking and a garden, BBQ etc to use if we wanted. All of the provided equipment and furnishings were of a very high quality, including the extremely comfy bed, it is quite obvious that Eleanor takes a lot of pride in the cottage for her customers. The location is superb, on the coast about 1.5 miles from Ballycastle which made for an excellent base for our touring around the area. Our wonderful views in the morning over the bay was of Ballycastle, Raithlin Island and on a couple of days a clear view of the Scottish Islands of Islay & Arran. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone wanting to stay in the area, especially as both bedrooms have their own en-suite facilities.

  • "Our host provided an amazing home for us to explore the area."

There were so many thoughtful touches throughout the cottage - it really made a difference. The only reason we went through Sykes was that they held the rights over the reservation after a cancellation - we would have had no qualms about booking directly with our host.

She showed us round, told us where everything is kept and provided a lovely welcome food basket. There was plenty of information about the area and attractions. The cottage was extremely comfortable, well maintained, beautiful garden and parking space. I would stay there again and definitely recommend it. We had a fantastic stay.

  • "This was our first visit to NI."

We were late getting in, it was dark and wet. We found the cottage easily and the owner, Eleanor, was there and greeted us warmly. She walked us through the cottage, showing us the amenities for our use and how things worked. There was also a bulletin board in the kitchen with instructions and a book in the livingroom with restaurant listings and pamphlets of local sights. She had a welcome basket for us which included freshly made wheaten bread, homemade marmalade, eggs and other goodies plus milk and margarine in the refrigerator!! We asked about a nearby restaurant where we could get a meal and she said follow me. We followed her into town where she suggested a couple of places. The cottage was very comfortable from the cozy living room with a small wood stove to the sun room where we watched Lorenzo blow in! The beds were very comfortable and always hot water for showers. We highly recommend Woodleigh Cottage and if we are fortunate enough to return to this beautiful area we would stay at Woodleigh. Thank you Eleanor!

The cottage has a warm and cozy vibrancy with a beautiful view of the coast. The outdoor garden seating area is charming. Woodleigh cottage is far bigger than we expected and the views are incredible. It was a fantastic base to go off exploring some of the famous sites during the day, and comforting to know that we get to spend the evenings relaxing in front of the wood burner with lots of peace and quiet and views of the lighthouses. The extra perks that Eleanor went to really put the cherry on the cake. Highly recommend this cottage.
