  • "The length of the drive from the road surprised us, in fact we thought we had gone wrong, but luckily the owners had seen us and phoned us, but it was well worth it."

We were shown into a lovely house with 2 roaring log fires in the lounge an kitchen, and a tray of essentials to get us started. We felt at home immediately. The owners were happy to stand and chat which made us feel really welcome. Once on our own and settled in we realised what a wonderful house it is. It was very well equipped and everything was clean, and even the bedding had been ironed, something you don't always get. It's in a lovely peaceful location with only birds, sheep, and cows for company, and really good views in every direction. Although the fields around are working fields, the owners didn't disrupt or inconvenience us in any way, more the other way round when we bumped into them!!! Would I go again? A resounding YES. Would I recommend it to others? Undecided as I'm unsure whether to keep it a secret, but certainly worthy of a recommendation. It's probably the best, or at least one of the best, cottages we've ever rented, and we've had quite a number over the years. Absolutely wonderful.

A very large, well equipped and cosy farmhouse, complete with log fires aswell as central heating. The countryside of Northern Ireland is fantastic and there were plenty of places to visit nearby.

  • "Lovely relaxing & comfy stay in the farmhouse."

We’re given a wonderful welcome by Edith & James at the property & greeted on entering with two roaring fires & some provisions (very welcome as we had flown in, so unable to bring supplies). Everything clean & tidy, also good range of utensils in kitchen. Maps provided were very useful to get around as the car we hired didn’t have sat’ nav’. Didn’t expect top speed Wi-Fi (it’s a bit hit & miss) Also don’t expect a power shower! But you’re escaping ‘city life’. We absolutely loved, the remoteness of the location & even having to hop in & out to open the two gates each trip. Sadly missed seeing the lambs! Would certainly recommend this property as a brilliant location from which to see so many of N. Ireland’s wonderful treasures!!

Peaceful lovely scenic setting but still close to places of interest or day trips to Belfast. Nothing was a bother for our hosts and we hope to visit again. Thank you!

  • "James and Edith couldn't have been kinder."

The house was extremely comfortable and in a very private setting. Lovely to have so much farmland to walk around. The house is down a lovely lane with two gates which enhance privacy and security. Lovely to hear the cows and sheep instead of car horns and traffic. Lovely environment for families, couples and for a solo visit. Will definitely book again.

  • "A great location to have a quiet, relaxing holiday."

The cottage is situated in open farm lands with views over the surrounding countryside. It is a very comfortable and relaxing place to return to after a day out sightseeing. It is located close to amenities in both Kells and Ballymena, which are about 5-7 miles away. We had a great holiday in a very relaxing, comfortable cottage and added to this was the warm and friendly welcome we received from the owners.

Such a peaceful setting with great views. Lots of personal touches made it feel like a home from home. We had a great time exploring the coast and country side and learning about NI history. So much to explore for which this farmhouse is in an ideal position for with Belfast close by and the north coast 50 mins away.
