  • "A wonderful experience."

Prior to the visit really good communication between the owner, the housekeeper and myself and a very warm welcome on the day by Eileen, with a much appreciated basket of essentials. The holiday home had everything you could possibly need, from a wide selection of books, DVDs, CDs, board games to kitchen utensils, coffee machine, washing machine and tumble dryer. An amazing stay in a lovely setting with wonderful views. Will definitely return. Many thanks. Georgina

Georgina, Thank you so much for your really kind feedback and for taking the time to complete it, plus the fabulous write up you left in the Visitor Book in the house. Your comments on our house mean so much to both ourselves and Eileen. You had such a long journey through the night, I am delighted that it was worth it. We get so much feedback on Eileen and what a fabulous housekeeper she is, we are beyond grateful to have her looking after the house and all the guests. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back again! Thanks again, Dolores Property Owner

  • "Lovely house with wonderful views of the sea."

Cosy woodburner in the living room. Very well equipped kitchen. You are able to walk to Mussenden Temple- wonderful views again. We‘ll be back!

Susanne, Thank you so much for leaving such fabulous feedback! Your mastery of the English language puts us to shame :) You had a long journey from Vienna, delighted you picked our house to stay in. We are indeed very lucky to have the Mussenden Temple on our doorstep with a fabulous walk up to it. The views over the Atlantic sea is breathtaking from both the Temple and the walk up. We probably love Castlerock more in the Winter time, the rough seas and the log fire make it a very relaxing setting. We would be more than delighted to welcome yourself & Daniel back again. thanks again, Dolores & Tim Property Owner

  • "Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic Where do I start!"

! What an amazing place to stay. The accommodation was spectacular from the second we opened the door. It has a large open plan kitchen, sitting room and dining area all looking out to the beautiful Castlerock beach at an elevated position. The four bedrooms were extremely cosy and beautifully decorated and we all slept so well. Eileen welcomed us at the accommodation with her true Irish hospitality and made us feel at home immediately. Dolores (the owner) contacted us before our holiday to introduce herself and to let us know what Castlerock and the surrounding area had to offer. Both Dolores and Eileen are two lovely people. We have been visiting this stunning part of Northern Ireland for many years and I can truly say that my family alway look forward to this holiday the most to recharge our batteries. I almost didn’t want to write this review as I wanted to keep this beautiful place our secret so that we could visit on a regular basis but I have to say that this accommodation and Castlerock is a ‘must visit’ holiday. Thank you so much Dolores and Eileen, will DEFINITELY see you again!

Hi Linda, What can I say, you are beyond kind with your amazing feedback, for taking the time to complete it and for picking our house in the first place. It was so good to hear that your mum was originally from our part of the world so you all already knew what an amazing place the North Coast of Ireland is, plus how much we miss the outdoor pool & Morelli's in Castlerock - you have to be a certain age to remember these! Thank you for everything, you will always be very, very welcome back in Castlerock! Property Owner

  • "Exceptional family house with amazing views."

We were a party of five adults, a four year old and a dog. Eileen met us at the property on arrival with a lovely warm welcome. She is a font of knowledge and knows absolutely everything about the local area. The property has everything a family would need and we felt immediately at home. (Every need has been considered to make your stay perfect, right down to the picnic basket which we used on several occasions). The location is spot on for exploring the Causeway Coast and surrounding area. Wonderful family holiday and can't wait to return.

Tim & Allison, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a fabulous review! A picnic is a must when you are travelling about the North Coast of Ireland, there are so many places to stop and admire the scenery. We are indeed very grateful to have Eileen manage the property for us, she is a wealth of knowledge. You will always be very welcome back, thanks again, Dolores & Tim Property Owner

  • "Lovely house, very well equipped, in a great location with a super sea view."

The opportunity for local walks straight from the house - along the cliffs to Downhill and the Mussenden Temple, the beach and the golf course was very enjoyable. The general location to explore the wider area including the Giants Causeway, Ballintoy, Port Stewart and Rush was also ideal while avoiding a very crowded and busy environment. Castlerock is a very relaxing spot. The information and help prior to booking and on arrival was first class especially the restaurant recommendations. What's not to like.

Hi Karen Thank you for the fantastic review, the North Coast of Ireland is indeed beautiful. Delighted that you had such a good time. Thank you also for your very prompt responses to emails etc., we hope to see you again in the near future. Property Owner

The main entrance takes you into a small hallway that leads to the ground-floor bedrooms, including a king-size with en-suite shower room and a double, each well-presented.

Make your way into the open-plan living space, uplifted by natural light and views of the Atlantic Ocean, here you can spend your down time beside the woodburner whilst you catch up on your favourite shows or congregate round the dining table as the designated chef prepares a home-cooked feast, using this time to discuss what’s left on the holiday agenda.

There is a viewing area with long windows and French doors open to the front of the house.

Head up to the first floor and find two twin rooms, one complete with a cot for those with babies.

Start your morning routine in the bathroom, enjoying a soak before heading out to the private, sun-trap patio, accessed via a few steps in the garden, where you can ponder on the day's agenda whilst basking in the sunshine and listening to the sea waves.

Make the most of your proximity to the coast and travel just over half a mile to the glorious sands of Castlerock Beach, a stunning setting to enjoy paddling the shores or simply soaking up the sunshine with a good novel; wetsuits and surf boards can be hired in the village if you're a watersports fan.

National Trust Mussenden Temple is also within walking distance, teeming with heritage and beauty, where you can also enjoy coastal vistas.

When you fancy a night away from cooking, within a short walk there is several restaurants and pubs, along with a convenience store if you need any essentials.

Those keen golfers can tee off at the Castlerock Golf Club before sampling a light lunch with a superb view at The Surf Shack.

The seaside towns of Portstewart and Portrush are just a short drive from 6 Strandview Cottages and provide plenty of character and charm.
