The house was clean, warm, comfortable, extremely well equipped and in a very peaceful location with lovely views. The owners take great care of their second home and also make sure the garden is well kept. We explored most of the Donegal coastal area which is stunning. Everyone loved the glorious beaches (especially our dog) and three of our party braved a dip in the sea! A real gem of a place and you won't be disappointed if you decide to holiday here. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and would love to return sometime.

It felt like home and was warm and cosy. Apart from storm Isha that was noisy and scary [ felt like the roof and windows were blowing out and off ] We had a quiet relaxing stay. We had our two large dogs with us and the property was perfect for them. Plenty of room inside and out. Everything was as described and there was plenty of towels, bedding and hot water! We made use of the laundry facilities as expected in a cold wet January. We stayed a week and I didn't want to leave.

  • "Well, what a stunning location for our long-awaited family get together!"

The property accommodated folk from 3 households perfectly in the 3 bedrooms & ample bathroom facilities. We just loved the space, cleanliness & friendly welcome we received. A massive plus for us was the walled, gated garden where the dogs could run around safely. Around the area, the beach to the north 5 mins drive away was huge (and empty) and the little town of Milford had a supermarket & various shops which kept us supplied. We also enjoyed the take away food from Fanad Lodge - twice - although the menu in the house is no longer valid so it's best to call in to choose from the extensive menu at the bar then collect later at an agreed time. We were concerned that, having buildings serving the salmon farm on either side, there might be noise / smells, but we need not have worried. There was very little activity, no smells, and the buildings might not even have been there - far enough away and behind hills covered in sheep & cows. All in all, a great holiday in a gorgeous, spacious home with peace & quiet and views to remember for a lifetime!

Very secluded. Location is superb. Beautiful surroundings. Very peaceful. House was as per description. it was clean, comfortable, spacious, and warm. Beds were very comfortable. Firm but not too hard. Slept very well during our stay. More than enough to see on the Fanad peninsula over a few days. We did Fanad lighthouse, Portsalon Beach twice, on the final day we climbed Lough Salt Mountain. Reasonably easy climb and incredible views from the top. We tried to get to Great Pollet sea arch but the farmer has closed access and the other route is a bit dependent on low tide. The only minor issue I had was that the cooking facilities are tricky to use unless you're used to induction hob and range cooking. However I did bake a cake in the oven and it turned out really good. And cooked much faster than usual. Other than that, we loved everything about the house.
