  • "I had a truly wonderful stay at Teach a Réalta."

The house, garden, and surroundings far surpassed my expectations. The house blends the charm of a traditional Donegal cottage with modern additions, creating a cosy, homely atmosphere while still feeling spacious and ideal for a large family. Rather than the slightly clinical feel that some investment properties have, this house offers a mix and match collection of items gathered over time, giving it the warmth of a lived in family home. It is clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could need to whip up a delicious meal. The conservatory and terrace offer lovely spots to relax or eat while enjoying the surroundings, whatever the Donegal weather may bring! The garden is a work of love and continued to surprise me changing with the light, the wind, and the sun. It is large, private, and very well maintained. Although some trees were damaged in a recent storm, the cleanup has been carefully and thoughtfully done. The gate to the property may appear small, but even with my questionable reversing skills and newly acquired experience driving on the left, I was able to comfortably ease my rather large Ford S-Max through without incident! We met some local wildlife in the form of a ginormous hare and a hedgehog. The birds are plentiful and full of song. Even the local sheep and cows were curious and welcoming. As the name of the house suggests, the stars are astoundingly clear. The nights are dark and wonderfully quiet. Shops are just a 10–15 minute drive away. The walks around the house are beautiful, and my dog loved exploring with me, on a lead at all times for peace of mind. There is so much to see and do in the area. It was my first time in Donegal, and I will most certainly be back. Greg is a wonderful host. He is open, welcoming, and available for questions and suggestions on what to see and do during your stay, while also giving his guests plenty of space and privacy.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback Jennie. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hopefully hosting you again. Warm regards, Greg Property Owner
