Moorhen House

We are just back from a stay at Moorhen house.

4 adults, 3 children and 2 small dogs. The house blew us away! Spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated inside and out. The view is stunning. Host Teresa is very friendly, she called and introduced herself and was able to tell us the best places to eat and visit ect. We visited Bunbeg beach and the kids loved seeing the shipwreck - this was only a short drive away. We also visited Dungloe Town which isn’t far. Plenty to do and see around you. Our only regret is that we didn’t book for longer! We will 100% be back.

A holiday home from home that we would have been very happy to call home.

An excellent property in a wonderful location - great in-house facilities and a wonderful location.

Stayed here with family for my Dad's 70th.

Stunning location and stunning accomodation. Everything is finished to a high standard. We were even joined by a deer on one of the days! Views are incredible and it's clear the accomodation is well looked after. Nearest town easily accessible with some great pubs and shops. Would stay again!

Stunning property in beautiful location!

Moorhen House is luxurious and beautifully decorated, lots of light flooding through the huge windows leaves you feeling immersed in the landscape, yet so cosy and warm inside when the temperature dropped outside. A wonderful holiday location, we will return!!

Absolutely love this house!

Second visit and booked again for next year. We meet up with family for a week and it's now my happy place! It's great to bring the dogs too. The house is outstanding with everything you need. Dungloe is only 10 mins drive and there's a shop/garage and pub within walking distance. Lots of beautiful beaches you can visit too. Highly recommend (but not the week we go!!) Can't wait for next year!!

We very much enjoyed our stay week’s stay at Moorhen House.

The property is spacious, very clean and well equipped. It is in an excellent location allowing easy access to middle and south County Donegal via car. The view from the property is breath-taking, overlooking the Lough. There is a great stretch of beach and coastline just west of Donegal Airport and parts of the disused Burtonport to Letterkenny Railway Trail for walking. The town of Dunglow is close which has several Supermarkets and The Lobsterpot pub/restaurant in Burtonport serving seafood plus is excellent. The owners of the property, Teresa and Bernard were very helpful. A highly recommended property for rental.

Un véritable coup de cœur

I was very impressed with Moorhen House.

Very modern, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with Wi-Fi Netflix etc. A really excellent Supervalue within easy reach. Very good beaches and walks in the area, especially the one adjacent to Donegal Airport- the approach to it is rated in the top ten internationally. A hidden gem is the second hand bookshop in Annagry with a huge number of items - all at 2 or 3 euros. Bernard the owner was very welcoming and helpful. The house is superb value for money.

This house is exceptional!

! So comfortable, well finished, well maintained. Loved the fireplace in the living room (you wouldn't need the heat out of it as the house is warm but the flame lights were cozy in the evening!) Lovely garden. Peaceful surroundings. Had a conversation with the owner one of the days and turned out we stayed in another fantastic property he owns in Crohy head last year (on the otherside of Dungloe), equally as beautiful! We were very sad to leave! Only a 10 minute drive to Dungloe and 10/15 minute (easy) walk to shop and pub. Stayed as a couple plus extended family of 4 with 2 dogs. You don't have to drive far for nice beaches and walks. Will be booking early for next year!!

Such a wonderful property in beautiful, tranquil surroundings. Loughanure is the perfect location for exploring all that Donegal has to offer. The house itself is very modern, spacious & beautifully decorated. We couldn’t fault it. So much room but still very cosy. We would highly recommend Moorhen House and we definitely will visit again.

The property was great!

Very clean & great views. WiFi wasn’t working when we arrived but the owner was very helpful & it was just one of those things! All the facilities were excellent. There was just the two of us with a dog but if the whole family had been there, it would still have felt spacious. Everything as advised on the website was spot on. Would thoroughly recommend this property. Thanks again!

The property was exactly as advertised - it was spotless and extremely comfortable. It was brand new, with not a speck of dust. Very spacious with huge closets for clothes and luggage. The property was well maintained with beautiful views from all directions. Lots of windows with natural light and well equipped. Simply a wonderful home. We would love to come back again.
