  • "We have just got back from a fantastic New Years break at this property!"

The host was exceptional, he was in touch prior to arrival, and also met us when we arrived and unpacked. He was very responsive to a couple of slight queries we had throughout our stay. The house is top quality, and was very clean on arrival, exactly as shows in the photos. The kitchen was very well equipped, the hot tub was great and the outdoor space was perfect for our two dogs. The bedrooms and en suites were very comfortable. It is a great location and we enjoyed multiple days out all within half an hour drive. The village has a few lovely walks with great pubs. We would absolutely recommend this property, and will be looking to stay again, maybe in the summer months when we can make better use of the outdoor space!

The outdoor space was ideal and the gated areas perfect for the dog. Very peaceful location with plenty of walks around and nearby. Definitely come again and next time we’ll bring friends!

  • "Our bedroom, last one on upstairs corridor, had insufficient storage for a weeks holiday for two."

Otherwise great. Super outlook. Fridge was frozen solid on arrival and took many days to defrost. Otherwise, GREAT! Outdoor space super. Owners friendly and present. Great walks for dog and Ladies in party enjoyed easy access to Newcastle and Durham shopping.

Our family stay was brilliant. The spaciousness of the property was excellent for our son and daughter. The garden was super for our dog. The views are gorgeous. A very relaxing stay which was worth it. We will certainly recommend and will certainly consider coming back due to how relaxing the property was.

  • "The pictures of the property really do not give it the justice it deserves."

We went as a family group and found everything perfect from the three evenly sized bedrooms all with ensuites to the level of space. The setting is fantastic really easy to locate and very near to the road network but once heading up the driveway your in country paradise with stunning views from the property and garden. The house had everything we needed and was really well thought out.

    Mr Mark UsherJun 2025

  • "Lovely stay comfortable lounge, kitchen had all equipment needed, garden safely enclosed for dog."

Hot tub great. Walked to village for pub meal which we enjoyed. Visited Durham & Beamish both close by. We would return (6 adults)

  • "The Stackyard was an excellent property."

We had three generations staying and it was loved by all. It offered space for entertaining and alone time when needed. It was spotlessly clean and warm and the layout was well considered. The rooms were spacious and well equipped - it has been converted to an exceptional standard. The views are incredible and the garden space was ideal and secure for our dog - a real Houdini normally! The owners were welcoming, but unobtrusive. We could not fault it and would love to return.
