Description
Tigh Marie rests in the peaceful area of Furnace, in Lettermullen, County Galway, offering a welcoming detached retreat that’s well-suited to families or groups looking to soak up the quiet charm of Connemara.
This stone-clad dormer bungalow provides a comfortable base for exploring the dramatic coastline, winding rural lanes and rugged landscapes that define this remarkable corner of Ireland.
Inside, the sitting room offers a cosy spot to gather, with an open fire at its heart, just the thing after a blustery walk along the coast.
The kitchen/diner is well-equipped for easy self-catering, giving you everything needed to prepare relaxed meals at home, while a separate utility room adds a practical touch, particularly handy after muddy boots and outdoor adventures.
Four bedrooms are arranged across the ground and first floor, offering flexibility for a range of group sizes, including three doubles and a twin.
These are served by a ground-floor bathroom with a bath and shower over, along with an additional shower room featuring a walk-in shower, helping to keep mornings running smoothly.
Outside, a private gravelled area provides a quiet place to sit out with a morning coffee or an evening drink and off-road parking is available on site.
When it's time to wonder, Lettermullen Heritage/Visitor Centre highlights the rich history and culture of the islands whilst the Seaweed Centre offers opportunities to book Seaweed Baths and a Seaweed Spa!
For those who wish to walk it off, various Lettermullen Walking Routes can be found on the Bealach Siúlóidí Leitir Mealláin Facebook page.
For a culinary break, the Seaweed cafe or Tigh Lee pub and Imeall restaurant are ready to greet you.
Further amenities are within driving distance, allowing you to enjoy both peaceful surroundings and everyday convenience.
Well placed for exploring Galway, Clifden and the wider Connemara region, Tigh Marie makes a comfortable and inviting base for scenic drives, sweeping coastal views and a taste of traditional Irish village life.
Whether you’re following sections of the Wild Atlantic Way, discovering hidden beaches or simply enjoying the slower pace of the countryside, this is a fine choice for a restorative break in County Galway.
