  • "The location and setting of the property is very idyllic, and perfectly situated for exploring the Ring of Kerry."

    The space was comfortable for 3 of us, but if filling all of the beds, there is limited living space to chill in the evenings. The property was not the cleanest but the location made up for it.

  • "We were informed just before our booking that dishwasher was broken so not to use however when we arrived water was seeping up from kitchen floor when we walked on it ."

    On looking under sink water was escaping from a loose pipe coming from dishwasher.we contacted owner who was out of country and he advised that he would try to get a plumber. The following day things deteriorated and leakage was worse we had to call owner again who said as it was bank holiday weekend no plumber available until the Tuesday,he advised to turn water off at main stopcock and use outdoor tap for our water supply !! 4 adults and 2 children - no partial refund was offered or alternative accommodation!! The plumber sorted problem on the Tuesday but the leakage had left a very musty smell in the dinnerware cupboard so everything had to be washed again prior to use . Water pressure (once back on) was awful 2 showers could not be used simultaneously. Cottage was in a lovely peaceful location ideal for visiting sites of Kerry however the issues with water flooding rather spoilt our stay

  • "Lovely cottage tucked away down its own private lane."

    Well furnished and excellent range of equipment in the kitchen. Owner provided very thorough instructions for how to find the property and keys were available in a key safe. Location is right by the Ring of Kerry where we found a superb variety of walks and activities. Thoroughly recommend.

  • "Lovely setting."

    All mod cons. Good directions down quiet country lane. Midge repellant is a must but we had some. Excellent location for exploring the beautiful Kerry peninsula.

  • "Good accommodation."

    Plenty of room. Comfortable. Some useful information and books. Lovely setting. Good local walks along quiet tracks and lanes. However, some basic outside seating would have been appreciated for those of us who like the outdoors. The only mild criticism I have is the place could have been cleaned more thoroughly than it was. Examples: Grubby floors. Toaster full of breadcrumbs. Out of date food left in cupboards and fridge. These are minor things a diligent cleaner would deal with. I wouldn't want this though to detract from the fact this is a great place to stay. And having fallow deer in the garden at night is a real bonus.

Thank you for your suggestions on how to be even better; we are planning some outdoor seating for next year. We can only apologise for any out of date food, this may have been left by previous guests who thought it could be useful to future visitors. GLENBEIGH, COUNTY KERRY

Killorglin 8 miles.

The small fishing village of Glenbeigh quietly rests on the northern section of the beautiful Ring of Kerry, at the foot of the Seefin Mountain, just 8 miles from Killorglin. Set amidst spectacular scenery, this lovely village offers a wealth of traditional inns and good restaurants, whilst providing easy access to the Blue Flag beach at Rossbeigh Strand, a sandy beach stretching over 4 miles, renowned for its safe swimming, adventure sports and paragliding. The surrounding area boasts a wealth of activities including sport-fishing, some of the best bass fishing in Ireland, horse riding, golf and canoeing, whilst the Coomasaharn horse-shoe mountain to the south, Seefin and Curra to the east and west and Slievemish to the north provide great walking opportunities and stunning views. A variety of access paths to the McGillycuddy Reeks (Ireland's highest mountains) are just a fifteen minute drive away, and with the pretty town of Killorglin also within easy reach, this beautiful area has plenty for all the family to explore!
