Description
Boyle 5.1 miles.
The Water's Edge is a whitewashed, detached cottage sitting next to Cavetown Lough in Glooria near Boyle, County Roscommon.
Ideal for a family of six looking for a relaxing break in this part of Ireland, the cottage not only enjoys views of the lough from the front rooms, but offers convenient, ground-floor accommodation throughout.
Upon arrival, you'll be pleased to find a gravelled driveway, where you can park up and easily unload your belongings into your new home-from-home.
Venture inside to be welcomed by the flickering flames of the woodburning stove and gas fire; especially ideal during the chillier months!
After a busy day, kick back and relax on the plush sofa and armchair in front of the TV with your favourite tipple in hand.
After unwinding for a bit, head to the kitchen, a well-equipped area with everything you need for a self-catering holiday, including a handy dishwasher; perfect for a quick post-dinner clean-up!
When the chef of the group has fixed up a tasty meal, enjoy it around the dining table whilst you marvel at those dreamy views of the lough.
As the day comes to an end, head to the back of the cottage to find three well-furnished bedrooms, two of which are doubles, with one of these enjoying lough views and access to an en-suite wet room, whilst the latter bedroom is a spacious twin room.
The family shower room is close-by, a contemporary space enjoying marble tiling throughout.
Try your hand at angling on Cavetown Lough, where the likes of perch, roach, pike and bream can be found, or simply embark on a leisurely stroll around the serene waters.
Travel a short distance into Boyle, a small but bustling town offering a range of fantastic amenities, alongside the renowned historic site of Boyle Abbey and the fascinating King House Historical & Cultural Centre; the town is also home to a regular farmers market, perfect for purchasing local produce!
Head to Carrick-on-Shannon, a riverside town which is home to Butler's Marina, where you can partake in watersports, along with the ancient landmark of the Costello Memorial Chapel and the quaint green of the River Front Amenity Park.
The area hosts plenty of other attractions to see, such as the breathtaking Strokestown Park House with its gardens, the intriguing Arigna Mining Experience and the Lough Key Forest & Activity Park; you'll rarely lack things to do here!
Choose The Water's Edge for an idyllic stay with those who mean most.

Amazing location handy for touring beautiful Roscommon and surrounding counties.
Hosts very friendly and accommodating. The peace and tranquility of the house made it difficult to leave but wonderful to return to.
Just home from a wonderful relaxing family break at "The Waters Edge" in a stunning setting.
Property had everything you needed offering peaceful surroundings while only 10 minutes away from closest town. An ideal location for doing as much or as little as you want. A big thank you to the owner Michael who met us on arrival to show how everything worked in the property. Hope to return for another break sometime in the future. (Stewart Family - July 2026)
