No.3 Beach Cottages

Although this cottage was absolutely situated perfectly, it is such a shame cause it could be such a fantastic cottage for very little effort.

But no maintenance seems to be happing. We had nowhere to put our rubbish as when we arrived.The bin was completely overflowing. We couldn't use the shower as there as obviously been a leak and the ceiling was about to come through. The bath that we had to use to shower in was so worn.You were worried you were going to end up in the foundations. Also made i have to use the merchant heater so we could have a warm shower.. Even though we contacted Skye and we're told that we would be contacted, it never happened.. the chimney was missing its pot, which meant that when we first lit the fire, you could not sit in the house because of the smoke blowing down. Windows were broke down, which made everything look scrubby. Most of the things were just lack of maintenance although there was a pair of socks and a facecloth lying in the garden the sparting had come off and water, running all over the satellite dish all these things can be backed up with videos and photographs. The one and only reason I booked this cottage after reading the reviews was because it accepted dogs we ended up leaving a day early overall disappointing !

Cottage is not fit for purpose.

3x bedrooms with only 1 en-suite bathroom that worked. Shower upstairs leaked with ceiling in living showing the leak with pots and pans under it. No hot water at all so had to use cold showers. Kitchen utensils needed. Outside the furniture is broken. No bins for rubbish. Windows broken cannot close, no heating bloody freezing Absolutely dreadful cottage that the owners need to get maintained before the rent this again.

The house is comfortable and roomy, good parking and well situated.

House great for a large family or group of friends.

This property looks like it hasn't been maintained since it was first furnished decades ago.

There were so many defects (leaking shower, broken dishwasher, broken heating, broken coffee table, filthy extractor fan, etc etc) that it was impossible to have a carefree holiday as they couldn't be resolved during our week there. To be fair, the rental company dealt with my complaint professionally but the house should never have been rented out in this deplorable state in the first place. The location is fantastic...

Not fit for purpose Dilapidated & Unhygienic Left property early Place is a health & safety hazard I am not one to complain but feel this has to be highlighted.

The one good thing about the property is that it was well cleaned.

As for the rest, No towels provided despite the website stating they would be. Property freezing on arrival, no heating on and storage heaters took overnight to heat up, one not working. Small electric heaters were in property but no use for providing real warmth. Had to go out and purchase briquettes and logs in local shop. Power cut, no candles etc in property, again trip to local shop. States on website, shop 0.1 mile, realistically half a mile away Blinds in front room broken on main window and blind on back door is missing. I managed to move main blind manually as there was no privacy. Some lights in kitchen and hall not working. No outside light, very dangerous in the dark. No shower mats, shower and floor slippy and dangerous. No cleaning materials or cloths, only one dish towel in property with a dirty glove under the sink. No instructions on how to get hot sink water on for downstairs, or shower which was not used. The small table in the front room had a loose top and this led to our first cups of tea being spilled, very dangerous. Loose cables hanging down from the tv, again health and safety issue and dangerous to young children etc. A lot of knobs missing from bedroom furniture and kitchen drawers, knife drawer is broken making them difficult to use. I fixed some myself so we could use them. Generally the property felt cold and damp, the upstairs airing cupboard where we eventually located the water heater has a lot of mould in it. We needed the fire going in the fireplace to keep warm despite the storage heaters etc. When we stripped the bed and duvet cover to leave in the utility room as per the instructions we discovered a thread bare duvet, explains part of the reason we were so cold at night. If anyone is interested in following up we took photographs to back our experience up. This is the first time we ever did this and was due the experience we had. We have visited many holiday properties in Ireland and have to say we have always had a positive experience. Unfortunately this trip can not be described as such I don't know if Hogan's check the property prior to putting your name to it?
