  • "Ann was a lovely host, she left a welcome package of groceries, bread, milk cake biscuits & a plate of sandwiches."

The house was so clean, warm and cosy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots pans, crockery & utensils. Beautiful views from front of house, quiet & peaceful, just off the N4, so easy to get to places. Loved the donkeys & geese just beside her house. Would highly recommend

  • "Anne, our Host at Belladrihid Cottage, could not have been more welcoming."

She had left bread, milk, butter, etc., in the fridge for us to get us started, and had even set a fire ready to light, if needed. The cottage was clean and well-equipped with everything needed for our stay there. The fact that we could bring our little dog was an added bonus. Anne's husband Tommy and son Thomas, were also so helpful when we didn't know how to work the television. Last, but not least, the views from the cottage were spectacular, and it was only a short drive into Sligo town. We would certainly go back to this accommodation, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Evelyn and Bernard Brennan

Anne, our host, and family have gone out of their way to provide their guests with everything that was needed for a special, memorable holiday. Nothing was too much trouble…their generosity knew no bounds.

The sun rising over the mountains is something we won't forget. Ann and Tommy are two of the nicest people you could hope to meet. They were never intrusive, but always available if we needed anything - and lovely to have a bit of a chat to as well! Ellie the dog, the ducks, hens and donkeys were lovely to meet too!

It’s not in town, so there’s sheep out front and chickens in the back. The best of all worlds. Mrs. O’Donovan was very helpful and showed us extraordinary kindness - she had made a plate of sandwiches for us when we arrived. True Irish hospitality.

The house is very comfortable, which was important to us as the October weather of our visit was damp to put it mildly but we were able to get out and about. The house has all the regular amenities including wifi and is beautifully sited facing scenic hills in the distance. It's only a short drive to Sligo town (plenty of amenities and history), Strandhill (beach), Knocknarea (mountain walk and Maeve's grave), Carrowmore (megalithic cemetery) and beautiful Lough Gill (Isle of Inishfree).

The cottage was extremely comfortable and we arrived to a very warm welcome and lots of edible treats. The location is ideal for exploring the Atlantic coast, but you only have to sit in the garden to see beautiful views of mountains and wildlife. The generous welcome basket was a great help. The cottage is very well placed for visiting numerous megalithic sites, beaches, Ben Bulbin, etc. Check out SligoWalks.ie for ideas. The closest town is just a few minutes away by car, and has a good supermarket and chemist. Deer sometimes appear in the evenings in the field below the cottage, so bring your binoculars. We appreciated a hamper of goodies and drawers full of everything we might need (but didn't). As soon as we arrived, we knew we could well be coming back some time in the future. We reached this decision late at night before even going inside! Perfect location as well as Sligo city centre is only 4 miles away and roads go north to Donegal, east into the interior (we got as far as Monaghan) and west to the wild expanses of the Ox Mountains and County Mayo. There are many fine beaches and quiet corners within easy reach along the Co Sligo coast. So ….. great location, friendly and helpful hosts and a pleasant place to stay. We also appreciated the absence of additional electricity/water etc. fees and even had our rubbish disposed of for us. Couldn't ask more. Well done and many thanks. Emma & John

You can be parked and out of your car in Sligo town in less than ten minutes. The tranquil location in countryside is beautiful and offers a view of both Knocknarea and Benbulben in one position in the back yard! The SuperValu grocery store is five minutes away by car and very convenient. The family of animals that live around the premises (dog, donkeys, ducks, turkeys, chickens) are adorable and friendly. Most of all, the host family who live on the property, the Donovans, are simply wonderful and helpful in every way. Ann had delicious sandwiches prepared for us in the kitchen upon our arrival.
