The property

Little Hut is a romantic shepherd's hut nestled near the town of Grange-Over-Sands in Cumbria.

Perfect for couples seeking a serene escape near Lake District National Park, this abode boasts coastal and countryside views to enjoy from your private patio.

You arrive and park nearby before walking down the path to the property, where the setting quickly makes itself known.

As the hut comes into view, the countryside stretches out ahead and the land drops gently towards the coast, revealing far-reaching views across Morecambe Bay.

The front garden sits perfectly within this landscape and offers a patio with outdoor furniture, a bench, and a barbecue, creating an inviting space to stop, take in the scenery, and enjoy the fresh coastal air.

Inside, the studio-style layout is beautifully finished and designed to make the space feel special from the moment you arrive.

In the kitchenette, tranquil blue fixtures set a calm tone, while the induction hob and combi microwave and oven make it easy to put together anything from a quick bite to a laid-back supper.

Pop your favourite treats in the fridge, flick the kettle on, and keep the toaster handy for slow mornings that start at the breakfast bar.

Set beneath the window with stools lined up, this rustic yet contemporary spot makes the most of the view, so breakfast comes with a backdrop of coastline and countryside stretching into the distance.

The living space is arranged for easy downtime, with a custom-made sofa that invites you to settle in and take the weight off after a day outdoors.

The TV is mounted so it can be enjoyed from both the sofa and the double bed, whether you’re winding down with a favourite show or easing into the evening with the lights low and the scenery still drawing your eye back to the window.

Electric heating keeps everything warm and welcoming, whatever the weather brings.

When it’s time to freshen up, the shower room is ready with a walk-in rainfall shower, ideal after salty air and countryside walks, along with a basin, heated towel rail, and WC to round out the space.

The location places you within easy reach of Cartmel, a village widely known as one of Cumbria’s standout foodie destinations.

A visit here often centres around L’Enclume, the celebrated Michelin Star restaurant where tasting menus showcase seasonal ingredients and thoughtful cooking in a relaxed village setting.

Beyond fine dining, Cartmel invites gentle wandering, with its historic priory providing a striking backdrop for an afternoon stroll, independent shops to browse at an easy pace, and welcoming pubs ideal for lingering over a glass of something chilled.

Grange-Over-Sands offers a contrasting rhythm, well suited to couples who enjoy time outdoors without rushing.

The promenade stretches along the edge of Morecambe Bay, where views shift with the tide and the open sky gives the town its character.

Ornamental gardens provide a pleasant place to pause, while cafés and tearooms offer a chance to sit back and watch the world go by.

Further afield, Lake Windermere makes for a memorable day out together.

Boat trips glide across the water, offering a different perspective on the surrounding fells, while lakeside walks link quiet bays and wooded paths.

Small villages around the shore provide places to stop for lunch, browse independent shops, or simply enjoy the scenery before returning to the calm of Little Hut.

With the Lake District National Park close by, the area lends itself to days shaped by good food, open landscapes, and shared moments.

Discover Little Hut, a charming shepherds hut perfectly placed for coast and countryside.

GRANGE-OVER-SANDS

Cartmel 2 miles; Lake Windermere 8 miles; Kendal 10 miles.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the introduction of the Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands into a fashionable Edwardian resort. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, delightful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L’Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK. Other attractions in the area include Levens Hall, with its Elizabethan Hall and world famous topiary gardens, Holker Hall, Furness Abbey, Sizergh Castle, a National Trust medieval house and gardens, and Conishead Priory, a Gothic revival country house. There is also the 25 mile Cistercian Way which starts at Grange over Sands. Set amidst the southern lakes, the attractive town of Grange-over-Sands makes a superb base from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area.
