  • "Perfect location away from traffic and all the hustle and bustle of city life."

    Chill out in the hot tub 5 steps from the bedroom door. Or relax in the garden with a book. A private lower decked area closer to the burn will have you feeling closer to nature, and being the perfect place for a coffee while listening to the water trickle by while you watch the squirrels and birds. The property is immaculate with big windows to allow you to enjoy the views of nature whatever the weather. Cosy and comfortable with the bonus of friendly informative hosts. A few local shops, takeaways, pubs and petrol station within a 6 minute drive. One takeaway even delivers to your cottage if you need a complete break from driving. Gretna shopping outlet and the M6 are only 15 minutes away. Carlisle is about a 25 minutes drive. I'll be booking again for my birthday near the end of the year.

  • "The cottage was lovely, it was clean, spacious and very peaceful."

    It was only a 15 minute drive into Carlisle city centre, however just a 5 min drive into Longtown. I would definitely use them again and I have already recommended the cottages to friends / family My only complaint which I forgot to mention to the owner was they use feather pillows, however it was only the top pillow so I swapped with my partner as I have allergies. Hot tub was fab

    We cannot fault our stay, the owners of the property were extremely helpful and very welcoming on arrival. What a beautiful spot they have! The cottage was very cosy and had all the amenities you would need for a relaxing stay. We will be sure to book again in the future. We could not recommend this enough, you will not be disappointed:)

  • "We have just recently returned from this cottage and it was fantastic."

    Although it is on site with the owners we were not hassled at all the garden was very private. Bed was comfy and the cottage as a whole was amazing. The pictures that are on Sykes are very out dated I think it would be beneficial to update these as it is a gorgeous property. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great stay

    Having private access to a decking that looked over the river was wonderful, and having a large hot tub and outdoor fire was also fabulous. The hosts were lovely, welcoming and couldn't do enough for us (special shout-out to Jared). Will most definitely be coming back!

A delightful, well-stocked town in northern Cumbria that runs alongside the River Esk. Longtown is a fantastic base for a holiday as it comes in the centre of four Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including Solway Coast AONB, the Northumberland National Park, North Pennines AONB and the Lake District National Park.The local area offers a pleasant range of shops, pubs and restaurants for you to choose from. There are some beautiful places nearby, offering even more places to go and things to do. Brampton and Carlisle are nearby with beautiful buildings. As Longtown is so close to Scotland, it would be rude not to visit Dumfries and Galloway. Edinburgh and Glasgow are just over an hours drive away.
