Holt Hall - First Floor Apartment

This is a well laid out, comfortable and well equipped holiday apartment.

The location is excellent too, right in the heart of Matlock and close to the shops and pubs/restaurants.

The property is nicely decorated and had nice touches such as milk in the fridge and a box of cakes.

We we're disappointed that there was no outdoor eating space and that had been one of the reasons we booked. The location is perfect for being able to walk to town and is also very near the train station. Having its own parking space is a big bonus. I would have liked a full length mirror and some hanging space for clothes. There are only coat hooks in the kitchen area and a mirror in the bathroom. We have family in Matlock and have stayed in a few different places but this was definitely one of the best ones for us.

The flat was fine - spacious, clean and comfortable, with all mod cons.

There were plenty of windows that could be opened wide enough to let some air through, which is important in the very hot weather. (I stayed in another flat a few years ago that had all the windows sealed shut - I think that should be mentioned on the listing, as it would have put me off renting it.) The main problem I had was finding it in the first place. I had the name of the house and the name of the street, but there's no name on the actual house, so all I could do was try to match it with the photographs. The dedicated parking space was welcome, but a tight fit.
