Description

Axminster 1.8 miles. The Sundowner is a beautifully presented single-storey holiday home located in the peaceful hamlet of Wyke near Axminster. One of three charming cottages in this idyllic rural setting, it offers a tranquil escape on the borders of Devon, Somerset and Dorset. It is perfectly placed for exploring the best of all three counties and the stunning World Heritage Jurassic Coast.

Inside, the property is warm, welcoming and full of character. The open plan living area is a standout feature, with an exposed stone wall, a cosy wood burner and a Smart TV, ideal for relaxing after a day of adventure. Stylish décor and thoughtful personal touches throughout create a homely yet elegant atmosphere. The well-equipped kitchen makes mealtimes easy to cater for, with everything you need including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and fridge freezer. A dining area sits conveniently opposite, perfect for enjoying meals together.

The Sundowner offers two beautifully styled bedrooms: a super king size zip and link bed (which can be made into a twin on request) and a comfortable king size room. Both share a sleek contemporary bathroom with a walk in shower and WC.

Step outside through the double doors in the lounge to take in far reaching countryside views from the front patio, complete with outdoor seating. Guests also have access to a shared garden area, thoughtfully landscaped with vibrant flower beds and additional seating, perfect for soaking up the sunset or enjoying a peaceful morning coffee.

The location offers a wealth of things to see and do. Just a short drive away in Kilmington, the popular Millers Farm Shop is perfect for picking up fresh local produce, artisan goods and delicious treats. The nearby town of Axminster offers a range of independent shops and eateries, while the charming seaside town of Lyme Regis invites you to stroll along the iconic Cobb, relax on the beach or enjoy fresh seafood at one of its many waterfront restaurants.

For nature lovers and walkers, the South West Coast Path is easily accessible and offers breathtaking coastal walks with panoramic views. Nearby Charmouth is a haven for fossil hunters, with its fascinating Heritage Centre and guided fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast. For a taste of traditional Devon charm, visit the quaint fishing village of Beer, known for its picturesque beach, cliffside walks and excellent fish and chips.

Whether you are seeking coastal adventures, countryside rambles or simply a peaceful place to unwind, The Sundowner offers a stylish and comfortable base for a truly memorable holiday.

The cottage had an open plan lounge, full kitchen & dining area.

2 large bedrooms & bathroom with a walk in shower. The accomodation was very clean & user friendly. Double doors from the lounge onto a small seating area with table & chairs where we watched a beautiful sunset. The grounds are well kept & plenty of seating areas & a field to walk the dog. Would definitely recommend as close to visit the coast of seaton & lyme regis.
