Honeymoon Cottage

Lovely cottage which felt bigger than we expected from the photos probably because it’s been so well thought through.

Smart decor, four of everything and all in good (new?) condition, very comfortable bed and gorgeous views from upstairs. Very quiet as on a narrow lane that only a couple of locals try to drive up - don’t try to drive to the door, park on Meeting Street if you can and walk everything around the corner. Perfect for a couple and we hope to return later in the year. Appledore has some nice little independent shops and plenty of good places to eat plus Johns grocery/deli/cafe.

Really enjoyed staying at Honeymoon Cottage, very warm and comfortable and ideally situated.

All facilities were excellent and cooperative from owners and the cleaner was excellent. Only 1 negative was the absence of a washing machine if you are on a long visit as we were, but did not really effect our enjoyment of our stay.

Perfect base for visiting North Devon

This was our second visit to Honeymoon cottage as we love it so much!

Perfect for our family of three an a fantastic location. The decor makes for a cosy, welcoming cottage and we feel really at home here. Thank you for another wonderful family holiday.

What a romantic, cosy, beachy seaside cottage!

It’s lovingly and sympathetically renovated and has the most stunning view of the sea down the quaint narrow lane. We had a lovely holiday and could easily get from Appledore to many beautiful places like Clovelly, Bude, Hartland, Lynmouth & Linton to do a variety of activities like cycling the Tarka Trail, cliff hiking on the South Coast Path, riding the funicular railway, body boarding, beach days and exploring beautiful places. Appledore village is stunning and so friendly with a real community feel and plenty going on. We watched boat races, listened to its brass band on the quay, jazz in one pub, rock in another, had gorgeous food in its restaurants, went for morning & evening dips with the local wild swimming group and explored the shops & galleries in its winding streets. I think we left a bit of our hearts there!

We had another wonderful stay at Honeymoon Cottage.

It’s a lovely, cosy cottage decorated to a high standard. The well is a charming and interesting feature. The village of Appledore is delightful and a great base while visiting other areas of Devon. Will hopefully be back again soon.

A lovely, relaxing place to stay, very clean and comfortable.

I had a very enjoyable time wandering around this lovely village and meeting friendly people.

The property is lovely, well-equipped and cosy - ideal for a couple with or without a youngster.

The well in the living room is an interesting feature. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for baths and showers. The cottage is well-located within the village. The only potential drawback is that access is very difficult by car. We parked about 1/4 mile away in a car park (£30 for a weekly ticket): fine for able-bodied visitors.

absolutely 5* lovely property in perfect location home from home, lovely and clean.

would have been nice to have had a washing machine, and iron + ironing board, but we took plenty of clothing so really it was no worry, but would highly recommend this little gem. Perfect location for scenery and for travelling around. Thank you, would love to be there now

We had a lovely stay in honeymoon cottage for the start of our wedding week!

Perfectly compact and comfortable cottage which was clean and well presented. Our 3 year old daughter loved the well! It would be great if some children’s cutlery and plates/bowls could be provided as well as a hairdryer! I’m sorry I didn’t get round to writing in the guest book but thank you for a lovely stay and we wish your family all the best.

Loved the Honeymoon cottage located centrally in Appledore for all restaurants and the river great relaxing view's Cottage was a joy perfect, comfortable and very clean

Very nice cottage but awful access not suitable for anyone with any walking problems unable to park thr car near the outage to unload unable to get the car up the lane

We absolutely loved it.

The Well in the lounge was a really lovely feature as was the view over the Estuary from the Bedroom. A real home from home. Lovely personal touches from the Owners. Would recommend it highly.
