2 Court Cottages

Our 2nd stay at 2 Court Cottages and so good to be back.

An excellent location in a lovely quiet village that is well placed to access some of the finest beaches and towns in Devon. The cottage is well looked after and spacious, well appointed with everything you need for a great holiday in this lovely part of Devon.

The cottage was warm and welcoming.

There was a small Christmas tree and lights with lovely bottles of fizz and panettone to help celebrate Xmas. Really well equipped would just recommend a fire companion set so visitors can keep the log burner clean. Everyone really friendly, please support the community shop and pub.

Lovely property in a beautiful location.

We really enjoyed our time there. A great place to make your base camp and to relax at the end of the day.

Second time of visiting this cottage.

As before a lovely, well equipped cottage perfect for visiting the local area..

On arrival the house needed vacuuming.

There were crumbs on the toaster and it was obvious the stair’s hadn’t been vacuumed. There were cobwebs around and a few marks on the toilet seat. I ended up cleaning as we arrived at 10pm so I wasn’t going to contact anyone and I didn’t want any hassle. Some of the house needs decorating and is looking tired. The toilets both had episodes of not flushing probably. On one particular day I heard someone knocking at the door but I was in the bathroom then about 15 minutes later I heard someone let themselves in. I had just come out the shower and a woman came upstairs saying she was the housekeeper and needed to check for a leak! I was absolutely shocked that someone would just walk in surely she should have phoned first. There was no leak and I would have informed them if there had been. I was not impressed. If you have low standards and like to do your own cleaning book away!

We had a wonderful stay!

The cottage is in an ideal location for getting to several beaches as well as on to Dartmoor for walks. Averton Gifford is a lovely little village and park was such a bonus. The cottage itself is gorgeous inside and presented to a very high standard. It had everything we needed and more. The little courtyard garden was lovely to sit in too. We would definitely recommend and would love to return.

the kitchen was well fitted out with quality equipment.lovely log burner.the enclosed garden was great for the dog and an evening glass of wine in the sun. Overall a lovely experience we will be back.

A return visit for our party (a fourth for one member).

We love staying at this cosy, well equipped cottage well positioned for exploring the South Hams. Situated in a peaceful village with lovely surrounding walks, we find this property a little haven. Comfort, cleanliness and beautifully presented, this cottage is a gem. Having a perfectly formed back garden, a tranquil sunny spot, is a bonus. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely property, rooms were clean and tidy.

All amenities that you would need are there. Great location to visit the South Hams area. The only thing I would mention is that the stairs are very steep and narrow at the bottom. This should really be mentioned in the description, particularly with young children or the elderly.

The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and the outside courtyard is the ideal place to sit and relax outdoors. We had a lovely sunny week and many walks just around the corner in the morning before venturing out for the day. The village of Averton Gifford is quiet and what we needed to get away and unwind.

The Cottage was so gorgeous.

The decor was so chic. The beds were so comfy. The kitchen was well equipped. It could not have been more perfect. The location is stunning. The tidal road is the most beautiful walk and the area is stunning.

The photograph of the outside does not do justice to how spacious it is inside. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was thoughtfully supplied. The small courtyard garden was a lovely warm, sheltered place to relax with a drink (or two) at the end of the day. Would definitely like to visit again!

This is a really nice house.

Very comfortable, has everything we needed, clean and well maintained. It is a really good location to visit local beaches. We had a lovely stay and I would happily recommend it. No criticism of the property in any way, but visitors should be made aware that the cars outside come literally to the doorstep and drive very fast - be extra cautious with children and dogs.

Excellent cottage.

Very comfortable. Spotless clean and well appointed. Was going to rebook for next year however far too large a price increase.

2 Court Cottages has been beautifully restored, decorated and furnished.

The ground floor has been opened up to provide a comfortable sitting room and kitchen/diner with French doors onto the courtyard garden. The bedrooms are very restful with lovely linen and fluffy towels. Both bathrooms have very efficient showers/baths. Aveton Gifford is very well positioned for easy access to all the lovely beaches and cliff path walks in the South Hams as well as shopping in Kingsbridge and Salcombe. We hope to return again soon. My husband and I have recently returned from a most enjoyable holiday at 2 court cottages in Aveton Gifford Devon.

The cottage is delightful; tastefully furnished and well equipped.The beds were extremely comfortable and made up of fine linen. On cooler evenings we really enjoyed the wood burning stove making the whole place feel extremely cosy. We were lucky to have (not every day) some lovely warm sunny weather and were able to enjoy the delightful court yard garden for drinks and meals and this was at the end of September! Aveton Gifford is a friendly unpretentious village and the general store/ Post Office is very well stocked. The village is placed in a really great position for walks,beaches a short ride away, and is a brilliant base for visiting the surrounding area. We will definitely book this cottage again!

Lovely cottage for our family summer stay.

All the appliances you need - as well as super comfy beds, and lovely carpets! There was lots of space upstairs, and downstairs was perfect for 4 people. Look out for the drop step to the kitchen - almost floored all 4 of us at various points. However the cottage was clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable: just the ticket for a nice holiday!

Clean and very welcoming. Great little Community shop and the play area in the village is very well equiped for all age of children. Lovely log burner and very fluffy towels. Great location for coast and country and parking wasn't an issue as plenty of free parking next to the Community shop.

We were again fortunate to have fantastic weather so took full advantage of the peaceful, sunny terrace (a bird lovers paradise!). Roll on the next visit!
