  • "Saltwater is a spacious and comfortable house located is a very attractive part of the riviera."

    All shops and visitor attractions are close by and local bus services give you endless options for visiting other parts of Devon. Assistance on any issues is readily available by phoning Lucy. Excellent value for a family holiday.

  • "Easy to find and although no parking outside there was a car park a few minutes walk away."

    The cottage was beautifully presented and there was a welcome treat waiting for us. A short walk to the end of the road there was the cliff top with plenty of options for an evening meal, cream tea, lunch or breakfast. Our short break was mainly a treat for my elderly mum who easily managed the stairs (which sometimes can be steep in a cottage). She was in need of a break by the sea and has thoroughly enjoyed her break away.

    It’s in a great location, has lots of space and loved the look of the place. Parking can be easily arranged with extended permits available for the nearest car park but also covering almost all of the council owned car parks in Torbay area.

  • "We did love this cottage for its location , the excellent styling and comfort of the downstairs rooms and the main bedroom (very good double mattress)."

    Loved also the look of the furniture, the artwork was great. Good cotton bedding and towels, (could be larger). Kitchen had all you needed if you wished to cook. if not good pubs and cafes were within a minute walkling. But there were some not so good points The twin bed mattresses were too wobbly for adult sleepers - -think kids have been using them as trampolines-need new ones. The outside spaces weren't swept and the one at the back could do with a paint and some of the visual appeal of the inside . The view of the washing machine in the utility area from the dining area- was not a good ambiance -some kind of screen needed . Overall would definitely book again if new beds or matresses were provided in the twin room

  • "We liked the house and outside area."

    It just needs new mattresses except the double bed, which was fine. Great Location.

  • "Great location near promenade ,shops facilities."

    Such as restaurants and bars. Lovely area. Good touring location. Direct bus into Torquay , plenty enough to to do in Babbacombe / St Marychurch Plenty of space for up to 6 people.Nicely fitted out.Comfy beds. Need to be be vigilant to be able to park on road for free outside, easier late evening to avoid paying for parking in the next road. Minor Improvements - Maybe more storage space / bigger wardrobe in main bedrooms / bin bags / bigger coat hangers. Would definitely stay again, great holiday

  • "This was my second stay at Saltwater cottage, this time for a whole week."

    I was "Working From Home" whilst there and it was perfect. It was so tranquil that I could really concentrate and get loads of work done. Best of all I could pop out at lunchtime for a walk on Babbacombe Downs or Walls Hill to clear my head and get some air. The house is ideally located for that. I spent most evenings out with friends and family, but the couple of nights I was in the house alone were wonderful. It truly is a home from home with everything you need in a fantastic location!

  • "Perfect location for everything you need from a holiday in Babbacombe, 1 minute walk to the down’s with beautiful views of the bay and beaches."

    Property is lovely and comfortable with all you need for your stay so you can cook, BBQ, or eat out at one of the close restaurants and tea rooms. The Torquay Golf Club is only 5 minutes drive away and is a very nice friendly course. We visited as three generations of a family and had a great week, we would highly recommend the cottage and area, Oddicombe beach was amazing and great for swimming and water sports. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us.

  • "I have been coming to Babbacombe/Torquay for the last 45 years and feel I have pretty much stayed in all the accommodation along the Downs."

    Saltwater Cottage is by far the best! It's deceptively spacious and well appointed and feels very homely and relaxing. The location is amazing, being in a quiet side street just off the Downs and close to the shops and restaurants in Reddenhill Road and St Marychurch. You won't be disturbed by any of the bars on the Downs but they are just a very short walk away. Babbacombe and Oddicombe beaches are on your doorstep (well, down a cliff but there's the Cliffside Railway!), so it really is in a fantastic location. My party was of four adults but we had another two visit for drinks and a meal - fish & chips from Hanburys, yum!. There was plenty of room for everyone. I would not hesitate to stay here again. In fact I'm looking forward to booking another trip soon! One last point: the owner genuinely cares about her guests and wants you to enjoy your stay. We didn't have any queries or issues but I got the impression that nothing would have been too much trouble, which is lovely to know!

  • "We've fallen in love with Babbacombe."

    Fabulous property, beautifully dressed, a real home from home! An easy level walk to the shops and restaurants, and the 22 Stagecoach bus travels through every 20 minutes if you plan to go further afield. The wood burner was a treat, logs are available from The Range or St. Marychurch. Hanbury's Famous Chippy deserves a mention. So good! Thank you Siobhan & Andy, we hope to return soon.

  • "The downstairs shower was was difficult to find a balance between scalding and cold so might need looking at."

    Not having a toothbrush charger in bathrooms means you could supply a plug in adaptor to be used as an alternative or advise guests in advance. Otherwise totally brilliant. Hope we did ok too.

Saltwater Cottage is a wonderful, Edwardian terraced cottage nestled near the beach in Babbacombe, Devon.
