The property

For those seeking a rural escape, Pendragon Pod is the ideal location.

Nestled amongst rolling Devon countryside and enjoying far reaching views, this scenic pod is perfect for couples keen to explore this delightful part of the country.

With an abundance of local walks and bridleways close by, Pendragon Pod is situated in its own private site adjacent to woodland on the very outskirts of Axminster and close to where the borders of Devon, Dorset and Somerset meet.

Located at the very end of a quiet lane, the only sounds you’ll hear are the birds and local wildlife, and the occasional farm vehicle passing in the distance.

This really is the ideal spot for relaxing and escaping the stresses of everyday life. The open-plan living space of the pod is well-presented and inviting, with a plush seating area located at the front so you can relax and take in the far-reaching views.

A woodburning stove provides warmth and a soothing feel making this a good choice at any time of the year.

Although compact in size, the pod is furnished and fully-equipped with everything needed for a self-catered break, including a fitted kitchen with hob, microwave, and fridge.

Mealtimes can be enjoyed alfresco when the weather allows or there is a dining table set for two. When it comes to nighttime, you’ll sleep in a decadent double bed located at the rear of the pod, with a sleek shower room perfect for freshening up after a good night’s rest.

In an area criss-crossed with public footpaths and walks, you’ll want to get out and explore, and a mile long footpath across open fields and farmland will take you to the nearby village of Hawkchurch with its pub, the Old Inn, and village store.

An area popular with walkers, other must do walks include Lamberts Castle or the South West Coastal footpath, which rewards with far reaching scenic views over the Jurassic Coast.

Food lovers will also be spoilt for choice.

Stock up on great local produce available at Millers Farm Shop, situated on the edge of Axminster or visit River Cottage Kitchen & Store for breakfast or lunch, with incredible views over the Axe Valley and beyond.

Belluno, the Italian restaurant in Axminster or The Tytherleigh Arms, are two other great choices.

When it comes to days out, a trip to the seaside town of Lyme Regis, with its beaches and iconic Cobb harbour, is not to be missed.

You’ll also find a great selection of restaurants, independent shops and galleries or simply sit with a local beverage at one of the bars overlooking the bay.

An area renowned for fossils, why not visit Charmouth with its Heritage Coast Centre on the beach?

Here you can see some amazing fossil collections and pick up tips on how to find your own fossils on the shore.

Other popular days out include Forde Abbey and gardens or Seaton, where you can hop on the tram and take a picturesque journey along the River Axe.

For those seeking a memorable rural escape, Pendragon Pod is the perfect spot.
