  • "Our second Visit to Lottie’s barn was as great as our first visit."

    Fantastic location with lovely views of the countryside and good facilities. Really cosy and comfortable. From Lottie’s barn we were able to visit both the north coast and south coast of Devon. So many lovely places to visit. Will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

  • "A really lovely and surprisingly spacious shepherd’s hut."

    Everything was immaculate - sparkling clean, fresh and new. The furnishings were tasteful and bright and every amenity is provided. Even tea and milk, eggs and brownies were provided on arrival. And, there was a lovely view, including of sunsets, from the pretty little outdoor deck. Highly recommend and will certainly return for another visit. Definitely a five star stay!

  • "Very nice welcome and the hut is super clean and cozy and comes with a good price."

    The only thing is you hear the main road quite loudly. But if you are there just to sleep and to visit the Moor, it is super!

  • "Had a fantastic stay at lotties hut beginning of June."

    The hut was perfect, cosy and very clean. The welcome brownies milk and eggs were a welcome touch. Location is very good a couple of good pubs are close by for food but did need the car. Lots of local walks. Wife and I plus a small dog loved it. Will book again later in the year just so we can use the log burner, it was too warm this time. Ignore previous comment about road noise, it's hardly noticeable.

  • "The first thing we like about the property was the location at the top of a hill with an amazing views of the countryside."

    The property outside is beautiful and has everything you need to enjoy the views and relaxing stay. Inside the hall property is done beautifully and you can tell that the owners has put a lot of thought and care in making sure all the guess have a comfortable and enjoyable stay . From the moment we walk in we felt very welcome, our host has kindly let us homemade chocolate brownies ,free range eggs and milk . We highly recommending this beautiful accommodation to others and a place we love to come back again.

Lottie’s Hut is an inviting shepherd’s hut situated in a shared field at Crosslands Farm, near Okehampton, Devon.

Boasting an appealing interior with far-reaching moorland views towards the pretty village of Belstone, Lottie’s Hut is conveniently located for a couple and their canine companion looking to explore this part of Devon.

Step inside and explore the open-plan, studio style layout with kitchen housing a combi air fryer and grill, electric plate hob, and fridge with ice box.

Warm your toes in front of the woodburning stove while you relax in one of the two chairs, or pull out the dining table to enjoy mealtimes together. Finally, drift off to sleep in the king-size bed, before freshening up in the shower room.

Enjoy an alfresco breakfast at the picnic table or return in the evening and take a sundowner by the firepit.

Head to Okehampton and visit the impressive castle ruins, explore the bustling shops and cafes, or take a leisurely riverside stroll through Simmons Park.

Experience the Granite Way by bike or on foot: with most of the 11 mile route being traffic-free, this is a peaceful way to enjoy the moorland scenery.

For a true taste of the wild outdoors, explore the Dartmoor National Park where you can take in an array of breathtaking moorland landscapes, dramatic tors, and quaint villages.

Exeter 23 miles.

Okehampton is a busy market town on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park and near the highest and most dramatic areas of the moor, where Yes Tor rises to a height above 2000 feet. To the north of Okehampton are some beautiful rolling Devon hills where small farming villages nestle amidst woods and fields with plenty of gently flowing rivers. The fabulous Roadford Reservoir offers a multitude of watersport activities and fishing opportunities. Okehampton has a prominent medieval castle overlooking a wooded river valley, the Museum of Dartmoor Life and Okehampton train station, which has been restored to its 1950s glory: The Dartmoor Line now operates a service between Okehampton and Exeter every hour, 7 days a week. The town also has access to fabulous walks and Simmons Park where you’ll find a children’s adventure playground. This area of Devon has plenty of farm shops and country inns serving good food where visitors can spend time relaxing and unwinding amongst unspoilt countryside.
