Devona is a fabulous single-storey retreat perfectly positioned in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Beer, Devon. Inside, the bungalow opens into a bright, open plan living space where bi fold doors draw the outside in. The kitchen, finished with smooth marble worktops, feels effortlessly sociable, whether you're preparing breakfast or chatting across the room to those curled up on the sofa. A separate utility room keeps everything organised and out of sight, making it easy to settle into holiday mode. The living area, with its comfortable seating and wall-mounted smart TV, flows naturally towards the terrace - an ever-present reminder of the view waiting just beyond the glass. Devona sleeps six guests across three bedrooms, two doubles and a king-size, each designed with comfort in mind. Two of the rooms wake up to those same sweeping coastal views, creating the perfect incentive to rise early and watch the village come to life. From the front door, the village of Beer is just a gentle walk away. This pretty, sheltered cove is known for its independent shops and galleries, welcoming pubs, and cafés serving some of the very best seafood landed on the beach that same day. Deck chairs line the pebbled shore, fishing boats bob gently on the tide, and the South West Coast Path tempts you with unforgettable scenery in both directions - including the much loved walk to Branscombe, one of the most scenic stretches of the Jurassic Coast. Beer itself offers plenty to explore, from the historic Beer Quarry Caves, a Roman origin network of underground caverns used for quarrying Beer Stone for over 2,000 years, to the relaxed coastal gardens dotted around the village. Visitors can also head down to the beach and join a local fishing boat for a trip out into the bay - an easy way to enjoy the coastline and bring home a fresh catch. A short hop along the coast brings you to Seaton, where a mile long beach, nature rich wetlands and a friendly esplanade make for an easy day out. Or take a trip along the coast to Sidmouth, home to the much loved Donkey Sanctuary, where rescued donkeys graze peacefully in wide fields overlooking the sea - a wonderful experience for all ages. And if you’re in the mood to venture a little further, the iconic town of Lyme Regis is just a short drive away and perfect for a day out. Here you can try your hand at fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast, wander the quaint streets lined with boutiques, or enjoy a relaxed lunch overlooking the famous Cobb Harbour.

The property was beautiful, exactly as described, and one of the best places we’ve stayed. The beds were all really comfortable, the beach was easy to get to, and having shops nearby was very convenient. The only thing that would make it even better would be a few fans for warmer days. We would happily stay again.
