  • "What a wonderful place to stay!"

    We have been fortunate to stay in some nice places but this undoubtedly ranks as one of the finest. The view from the balcony is incredible, just a little too chilly and blustery during our stay to do it justice. The apartment itself is deceptively spacious and very comfortable, with everything you really need for your stay. There are also some lovely additional touches with a seaside theme and the welcome basket was very much appreciated. Hopefully will return in the future.

  • "We had a truly wonderful stay at this holiday home in Devon."

    The view is simply breathtaking and made our stay extra special. We felt completely relaxed and well-rested during our time here. Our children loved exploring the nearby beaches at Challaborough and Bigbury-on-Sea. The location is perfect for both relaxation and family adventures. The owners were extremely welcoming and always available to answer any questions we had, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We would be delighted to come back again – highly recommended!

  • "A very comfortable stay in the accommodation."

    Fantastic view from the balcony. We took our own foldable beach chairs which we used on the balcony. The downstairs shower was better than the upstairs one. The main bedroom was fantastic, very big and plenty of storage space. Kitchen was well equipped with all we needed.

  • "Perfect stay for myself and my sister."

    Swim on empty challaborough beach at 9 am every morning. Apartment is equipped with absolutely everything needed. Thank you. A couple of small points… the nisa convenience store in Challaborough is very good but didn’t seem to be highlighted in the house details. I was unable to refit the key safe on departure so taped it in and informed the caretaker number by VM. And finally it was slightly annoying that the windows only opened one inch…I assume this is a safety requirement. Many kind regards. Tim.

  • "We stayed last year & no hesitation in returning."

    We needed the 1st Aid kit & it needs replenishing & the downstairs WC fan is very loud & wakes others if used during the night. Other than all good.

  • "We had a lovely week in Bigbury, the house has stunning views and was very comfortable."

    We only had one bad day of weather (rain and very windy) but this gave us wonderful views of surfers and rolling waves in Challaborough bay.

  • "Lovely place with a great view of the beach and coast."

    Great to be close enough to hear the sound of the sea. Place clean and everything you need. Parking off road and just outside the house. Two beaches within walking distance. Great to be able to go in the sea and walk back for a shower. Definitely plan to book that place again

  • "A delightful well equipped apartment overlooking Challaborough Bay with a great elevated view of the South Devon Coastline looking towards Plymouth and local for day trips to Dartmouth, Hope Cove and Salcombe."

    The apartment has everything in it that we expected during our one weeks’ late summer holiday and has a short walk to Bigbury-on-Sea beach and Burgh Island where trips to the Pilchard Inn can either acessed on foot when the tide is low or accessed using the Sea Tractor at high tide! We will definitely stay again. Only one maintenance issue during our stay was the window restrictor in the upstairs bedroom where it would have been more pleasant to be able to fully open the windows overlooking the sea using the key provided, but the lock was jammed so upon arrival during the hot weather the windows could not be fully opened to remove the heat. Conflicting responses received from Jane one the co-owner’s, Lesley the apartment manager and Alison the Sykes Rep, didn’t help and no resolution achieved!

  • "This is a superb site for rental."

    Ideal location. The view from the balcony was excellent. Very well appointed. A most ideal place to say. I can thoroughly recommend it and we will return. One thing, The address is incomplete and it makes finding the site very difficult. The house number was missing. It should have 51 Marine Drive Added to the address of 2 The Bay.

  • "Spacious with wonderful sea views."

    Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay. Only bit of maintenance required is the extract fan in the downstairs WC not working. Look forward to staying again.

  • "Comfortable and well equipped property."

    Every thing we expected. Elevated position gives great views down the coast and an arial view of the surfers below. It was quite windy! The nature of this part of South Devon means narrow roads and slow travelling!

  • "A truly amazing view with beautiful sunsets, stunning."

    Very comfortable accommodation, a perfect place to relax and chill out with trips to the beaches and near by towns. We had some hot water issues for the first few days. The brolly on the balcony was broken, it can get very sunny mid afternoon onwards. Note - there is some major building works going on at the next door property which we were not informed about - it was occasionally noisy from 8am and at periods throughout the day until 4pm.

  • "The apartment is excellent was exceptionally clean & well equipped."

    Beautiful location & amazing views. The TV guide instructions in the book do not match how to operate the TV there is no mention of choosing the source for HDMI etc. Tried calling the manager but no answer don’t know if no in book is out of date. Book needs updating. We had no hot water for at least 4 days a pump had broken & was not repaired i till Friday afternoon not pleasant showing in cold water after a day on the beach. Was disappointing considering the cost of the rental,

    It met all of our needs. We found the hob very difficult to use but the management did come and show us how it worked. It remained temperamental throughout the week. We are booking again for next year which shows how great the accommodation is
