  • "Had a brilliant stay thanks."

Cottage was as described and had everything required. Situated in a beautiful spot with the sea in view. A shame the local pub is closed. A very small complaint that certainly didn’t spoil our holiday, a new settee might be in order. On the whole, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

  • "We had a real enjoyable stay in this beautiful part of the country."

The accommodation had everything we required. Very good for dogs, it even had a small field very close for short walks at night and early in the morning. The roads in the area are very narrow so we had to drive to he beaches. I would definitely recommend Honeysuckle cottage.

  • "We had a great time at Honeysuckle Cottage."

It was clean, warm and comfortable and there was plenty of space and it appears to have been recently decorated. The other reviews don’t do justice to the views from the living room and back bedroom which look out over the sea - the sun sets were amazing. The place was conveniently located to get to Bigbury on Sea and other locations and although there were a lot of narrow roads in the area, there are plenty of passing places and some of the most courteous driving I’ve ever encountered so that was not a problem for us. The only thing we’d have asked for is some more crockery (too few cups and one or two chipped bowls) but this is a minor gripe. We’d be very happy to stay there again.

  • "The weather at the start of the holiday was very poor, but the cottage was so comfortable and a great place to chill out."

As the weather improved the cottage proved to be a great place to tour Devon from once you learnt how to manage single track lanes, We would fully recommend Honeysuckle Cottage, the only down side was no visitors book to express our thanks. Sue & Colin Howard

  • "Honeysuckle Cottage is in a lovely quiet location, even on a Bank Holiday weekend."

It is part of a complex, which is not obvious from the photos, but this is not a bad thing. There is good car parking with easy access to the house. Numerous public footpaths are available from the cottage in various directions with some stunning views. The cottage is spacious and well equipped, with ample storage. Some of the carpets and furnishings are a little tired, but overall we were very satisfied.

Apart from that it is a very comfortable, well-appointed cottage in a lovely quiet spot

  • "Beautiful cottage with 2 parking spaces in quiet courtyard location well equipped lots of space and very comfortable."

With a view of the Sea be it distant. Lots of footpaths but some destinations like the Pickwick Inn & store in St Anns Chapel and the Beach at Bigbury on Sea required walking on narrow lanes which maybe in July & August would be much busier. Saying that the pub was lovely. Sunday lunch recommended. We chose takeaways. Dont recommend the Fish & Chips in Challaborough. Suggest booking other local restaurants pre visit as we could not get reservations in May. Oyster Shack & Journeys End were recommended. Would definately go back.

  • "Honeysuckle Cottage is set in tranquil setting."

High standard of cleanliness and everything supplied, didn’t need for anything, and much appreciated the finishing touch of tea, milk and cakes left for us. 2 bedrooms with plenty of space; lounge seating comfortable and a good choice on the TV. My daughter and I had a lovely relaxing break and would highly recommend Honeysuckle Cottage. We even managed afternoon tea in the sunshine in the front garden on arrival and breakfast the following morning listening to the lovely bird songs.

Not very private as it’s an actual terraced building but it is in a nice quiet secluded area. Good amenities for cooking and very spacious rooms. I would stay here again.

House was fab location for all of Devon and Cornwall with Lands End around 1hr 15 minutes drive time. Managed to visit, Lands End, Lizard point and Eden project in Cornwall (different days). Travelled around Devon on the remaining days. Stunning. Was great to come back to a great house with pub and shop15 mins walk up the road. Definitely recommend this property.

  • "The cottage is as described and has most things you need."

Hard to tell if it had a deep covid clean, would only say it was to a normal standard. No bags provided to put used bedding etc in although you are asked to use them . Take dishwasher tablets and washing detergent if you want to use either appliance. Also take hand wash/ wipes etc in this current climate. On the plus side, had plenty of hot water, bed was comfy and was reasonably well stocked in the kitchen.

Slept like a log, lovely warm cottage and a decent TV which is a rarity in a holiday rental. Will happily come back for another holiday next year, possibly before that to catch some better weather! Thanks to the owners and Coast and Country,

  • "Honeysuckle Cottage is a comfortable, well equipped cottage in a great location."

A couple of details let the cottage down - no light bulbs in some lamps for example - we found spare bulbs in a cupboard but the cleaner should have done that for us. There were a couple of issues that need looking at - for example the lounge curtain rail was coming away from the wall - but these were relatively minor thinks and probably on the winter to do list. Our dog loved the grass area and because it was quiet had the run of the place - in high season with more people in residence the lack of a gate on the garden area could have been a pain - however if looking for an out of season, reasonably priced, comfortable and conveniently situated cottage - Honeysuckle Cottage is a good choice and I’d certainly visit again.

  • "A comfortable week despite weather!"

I personally find the sofa a bit low and squishy but was able to sort it with pillows and cushions so not a problem as no one in spare room needing the pillows! I think mattress has been replaced since last January so much appreciated. Also appreciated the welcome cake and tea, such a nice touch and made me feel welcome. Ideally I would have liked the manuals for main equipment as boiler setting could have been set to come on earlier than 07.00 as I was getting up to a cold cottage. The basic instructions were not quite sufficient for this, particularly if you got something wrong and needed to cancel it and start again! Overall a comfortable week and a big thank you to the owners.

  • "The arrival instructions were excellent."

The cottage was clean and ready for our arrival, everything was just as pictured. I was delighted to find the cooker, fridge and dishwasher were the same as I have previously used. The kitchen had everything needed to make our stay truly a home from home experience.(I rarely eat out, preferring to cook at home) The bed was massive, and comfy. Plenty of hot water, superb shower. The location of the cottage was perfect for us to explore the surrounding area. The bonus was not only the glorious weather, but the silence, we slept like babies!
