"The cottage is well designed and tastefully decorated."
However when comparing it to the many others we have stayed in it is lacking a few basics.
There was no hand soap in the bathroom or kitchen. Also no anti bacterial spray or wipes to clean the work surface and no paper kitchen roll. It is also usual to have salt & pepper, general glasses and a cork screw.
My main concerns are that there was no anti slip mat in the shower, I am sure this is something that should have been thought of in a risk assessment. Also no oven gloves. The lack of oven gloves was mentioned in a review in April and it is now July!
The general cleanliness wasn’t great - lots of cobwebs around doors and windows and in the bottom of the log burner. Also I don’t think the kitchen floor had been cleaned.
The village of Parkham however is lovely. There is a really good butchers and would highly recommend The Bell Inn for delicious food and hospitality.

"We had a lovely time at Hedgehog Hideaway."
We really appreciated the cream teas left for us when we arrived. We visited lots of impressive beaches and beautiful villages. We will deffinitely be down for another holiday soon.
Purely for the owners information: when it rains water comes in onto the top log burner. It didn’t affect us during our stay as the weather was good.

"Lovely accommodation and in a very pretty village setting."
Had most of the things needed, but perhaps a couple of pasta bowls, a large serving dish and a pan stand could be provided. The bed was very comfortable and there is ample storage. The outside area at the rear wasn't great on arrival - we had to clean the chairs and table and weed out the garden as the weeds were tumbling on to the patio area. However, it was a terrific base for our 10 day visit to Devon and we were able to visit some beautiful towns/villages in the area. We'd certainly return.

"The cottage itself was lovey and clean but the courtyard could do with a tidy up and the black bin had not been emptied, overall we had a lovely stay it was so peacful."
A suggestion that could help in the kitchen would be a pair of oven gloves and everyday glasses for juice/cold drinks.
We will definately look at booking to stay here again in the future.
We are so very sorry that the back courtyard had not been tidied up or the bin emptied.
There should have been oven gloves!
We will check on the glass inventory as there should also have been drinking glasses.
Thank you so much for your feedback.

"The accomodation that I booked with Sykes was called Hedgehog hideaway the name on the accomodation door was Hedgehog Highway a little confused on arrival but the key code worked."
The accomodation was lovely, tidy and clean, everything provided for a short break. No complaints whatsoever just a couple of notifications, the log burner flu was leaking when it rained but didn't cause a problem. The outside patio light didn't work and the area needed a bit of an Autumn weed and tidying up. A lovely stay had by all.
Thank you so much for pointing out that the sign on the door is incorrect! It is currently being remade by the sign maker, who himself had made the mistake and It had passed by 4 people plus previous guests who had not noticed.
The flu for the woodburner has been looked at and the outside patio is sorted.
Thank you for choosing Hedgehog ‘Hideaway’

"Lovely cottage, welcoming cream tea in the fridge a lovely added touch which we appreciated."
Everything provided including washing machine and dishwasher. clean and tidy. unfortunately the wifi service wasn’t working when we were there it was reported but wasn’t repaired and this did impact our stay so we left earlier than expected.
We are deeply sorry for the WiFi connection problem.
BT did locate the fault having being with the router which they did need to replace but unfortunately it did not arrive before your early departure.
We take all reports very seriously and do our very best to rectify ASAP. Deepest apologies that this impacted on your stay. Your review is hugely appreciated.

"Excellent holiday property, clear instructions for an easy arrival, modern style in a traditional building, carefully designed to be in keeping with the local area."
All facilities were new, the grounds were well kept set in a beautiful village
The ideal location to go site seeing as a central point
* The only focus area to look at was the windows needed cleaning, this is a challenge in a rural area as we know, but other than that a fabulous , enjoyable place to stay.
Thank you.
Your feedback is very much appreciated and your comment regarding the window cleaning noted.
Thank you

"The Cottage is tucked away in Parkham, and access is difficult on the narrow roads in and out, caution needed."
The Cottage is lovely, and clean and comfortable.
We had a couple of small issues which were very quickly resolved. We suggested that there needs to be a general instructions book for all amenities, and dealing with rubbish removal etc.
Our Dachshund Harry also enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for your feedback.
We will review the welcome handbook as we thought we had covered just about everything possible - thank you for bringing to our attention.
We are pleased that you all, including Harry enjoyed your stay.
