  • "Well maintained modern apartment which has plenty of space."

    It was clean and comfortable but the lanes that approach the property are a bit hazardous as they are narrow and dip with high hedges so you are unable to see any approaching traffic. This is in the countryside so understandable. We had a bit of a problem with flies (also as it's the countryside) which was a nuisance as they land on you constantly and we had to cover drinks and food that we were consuming all the time. Overall, a nice apartment with most things you would need on holiday. We did miss a washing machine as we are continuing our travels but I obviously hadn't noticed that when booking.There was a dishwasher which we didn't use though. Also note perhaps that when inside the apartment there are no views, this didn't particularly bother me but it really bothered my husband. Anyway we were out most of the day so wasn't a huge problem., A beautiful apartment to say the least!

  • "The location and the property itself were amazing, and it has so much potential."

    It is a lovely place to get away from everything and enjoy the Devon countryside. Unfortunately, the cleanliness could have been better. The bedside tables had visible dust and hair on them, which was disappointing and gave the impression that the cleaning had been rushed. The biggest issue for us was comfort. The sofa was very hard and uncomfortable, and the mattress was also uncomfortable, so it felt like there was nowhere in the property where you could properly relax at the end of the day. With a little more attention to the cleaning and some investment in a good-quality, comfortable sofa and mattress, this place could be absolutely fantastic. We still enjoyed the stay and loved the setting, but improving these areas would make a huge difference to the overall experience.

  • "Lovely stay at woodlands roost ."

    Lovely bed to sleep in also a nice packet of biscuits left for us . When we arrived at 15:00 we had to sit in the car as the accommodation was not cleaned we had to wait for the cleaners to leave this took about 30 mins. Going into the bathroom we had been left with half a loo roll and the pump soap was empty. The property needs to leave instructions for the cooker hob also the TV . The sofa is very hard to sit on . We did have a nice time exploring North Devon.

  • "The accommodation is spacious for 2 people and modern."

    We found the patio useful with dogs but just needs a jet wash every now and then .It is a shame the patio doesn't have a view as stated.The bed was very comfortable but the sofa and chair although immaculate are a bit hard.The location for us let the property down a little.( I appreciate you can't do much about that!).We visited some lovely places from here but the journey in and out of the village is not for the faint hearted and we learnt not to follow the satnav!Thank you for the scones and cream.That was a nice touch.

  • "The accommodation was ideal, light and air."

    Plenty of room, and a large comfy bed. Had a chat with the site manager who happened to be about. She was able to address a couple of minor housekeeping issues. She was friendly and easy to talk to. We stayed during the heatwave so were unable to take advantage of the enclosed rear patio.

  • "This accommodation was simply 100%!"

    ! Everything from the outdoor appearance to the Devon scones and jam being left as a welcome amenity. We (along with our dogs) had a fantastic time and are talking of booking the same place again. Absolutely outstanding!! Thank you.

  • "Excellent accommodation."

    We stayed for 5 days with our small dog. Plenty of space and very quiet. Perfect location for exploring the north coast. Check in was really easy and a cream tea in the fridge was a lovely touch. Will definitely be back.

  • "The property is absolutely lovely, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean."

    I struggled with operating the induction hob and there were no instructions. I then struggled to contact the caretaker (no phone signal in the area) However once the caretaker arrived he was brilliant and the situation resolved. I had a really relaxing 4 day break and would definitely consider another visit as there is so much to see and do in the area.

The signal in North Devon is not at all good and for that reason we installed a good quality broadband to enable calls by WiFi. We will ensure to leave a clearer message in the cottage.   • "A lovely recently renovated barn conversion, very spacious with great kitchen and bathroom facilities."

    We found the mattress to be a little too firm, and we’re disappointed that there was no loo roll in the property on arrival meaning an unnecessary trip out, the nearest shop is over 4 miles away! Location is very peaceful and the Bell Inn 5 minutes walk away, well recommended for. Oth food or just a drink. All in all a very enjoyable stay

    We are so pleased that you had an enjoyable stay but so sorry to hear that you had not had toilet paper left! A call to ‘Kirsty (holiday home management)’ her number is in the folder and her card left on the table, would have saved you having to leave the property and find a shop.   • "The cottage was perfectly clean and equipped with everything."

    The facilities all felt really modern and comfortable. The general location was great about 15 minutes from the coast however the roads into the cottage were a big struggle for me! I ended up on tiny one way country roads every day in and out of the cottage but apart from that I would absolutely recommend this accommodation.

  • "Whilst we enjoyed our stay we found the cottage to be in need of a little more TLC with cleanliness and also the shower screen was dangerous as it had not got the right stabilising fitment to ensure the glasses safety."

    The flycatcher near the kitchen bin was full of flies which had not been replaced. The roads to the property were very narrow also.

We are so very sorry that you experienced cleanliness issues, all of which we would have easily addressed on arrival would we have been aware and you can be assured that these will be rectified.   • "Hi we had a fabulous stay and thank you for the arrival gifts."

    Too many positives to list. However,not negatives as they didn't spoil our break, we could not get right hand side of hob working. Bathroom paint is flaking quite badly. Flies were bothersome and if an out door hose could be fitted, we would have liked to clear yard better after our dogs. The bins don't look like they have been collected either. But again, these comments are made mainly for the owner to improve what is already a lovely cottage.Would definitely like to revisit a d hope to go back soon.

    Huge apologies that the bins had been missed and also that you were not able to get the right hand side of the hob to work! We will definitely be looking into this.
