  • "Lovely stay at the station."

Just a few little things that need improving mainly just the cleaning prior to other guests staying. In the kitchen area we found mouldy bread at the back of the bread bin on the worktop. The kitchen needed the worktops wiping down thoroughly. Also a few cobwebs here and there which could also be hoovered up. Also the main bedroom bed has 2x mattress toppers on which meant the fitted sheet did not fit and kept coming off in the night. Maybe a new mattress would benefit in this room. Also it would be nice to have the choice of different tog quilt covers for the days where it is warm. We will definitely be returning next year and hope to see these improvements.

Thank you for your comments, so sorry to hear The Station was not as clean as it could have been, I wish you had informed Coast and Country of the issues so that they could have sorted this for you. We will take into account your other comments. Really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was excellent very spacious and very clean."

Living upstairs was brilliant because you can lookout of any window and see breathtaking views for miles. Televisions in every room! Including the bedrooms, Wi fi was excellent we had at least 10 devices and not a flicker which in Devon is unreal. Loads of parking space and a bbq as well.

  • "The property it was absolutely spotlessly clean and well equipped when we arrived ."

It is a perfect home to home holiday option for big families. The internet provided by the house it didn’t worked for the last couple of days and we can’t find the key for the shed where the barbecue was stored. We found the key next to the boiler but maybe it can be added in to the house info book for other guests. More toilet rolls for 9 people/ 7 days please ? I would definitely recommend the property to friends and we are hoping to return for the next year . Thank you

Good information sources and all mod cons. Combination of house and locality made for a delightful, quiet and most enjoyable stay. We had one problem with sheep in the garden which was dealt with immediately. Thank you.

  • "The situation (apart from the narrow lanes, can you ask the council to widen the lanes lol)."

We loved the layout of the house and were impressed with the amount of crockery etc. The only negative was there was not much information about the rubbish, recycling, where the nearest recycling was, day the bins should be put out, if they should be at the roadside etc.

  • "The Station was an ideal choice for our family of nine, with plenty of space and plenty of games to keep the three children entertained."

A couple of things which would have made it even better would be curtains in all the bedrooms, especially the children’s, as the blinds did not keep the rooms dark enough after sunrise. The duvets on some of the beds were also very thick for summer use. There is also a lack of recycling facilities which went against our usual habits.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review of The Station. We were so pleased to hear that the property was enjoyed by all the family. Your feedback in respect of the accommodation is much appreciated and has been passed on to the owner who will look at the various issues mentioned. We look forward to welcoming you back to the area very soon. Property Owner

  • "As others have commented, this property is a little tired and dated."

This however, is not a problem given the setting and views which are stunning. What we did not feel acceptable was the cleanliness. There were cobwebs in the hallway and in corners throughout the house, even the kitchen. The outside of the windows were filthy, so much so that we cleaned the glass doors to improve the outlook. It left us questioning how clean everything else was in these critical days?

Thank you for your recent review of The Station. We are sorry that the property was not presented to our usual high standards on arrival. We would have been able to rectify the cleanliness issues and had the windows cleaned immediately if you had contacted our local office. The Owners had arranged for refurbishments to take place before the Summer season, but unfortunately due to the pandemic, these have been pushed back to take place prior to next season. We hope that despite these issues you had a lovely time on Bolberry Down. Property Owner

  • "The Station holiday home was lovely and perfectly located."

The only criticism is that it totally undersold itself on on the website. It’s was packed full of everything you need, including towels, baby cots, highchair and stairgates all of which we were told it didn’t have by coast and country on the phone. This was rather annoying as we had to cart all the stuff down unnecessarily! This is not a reflection on the house, but please update the joining instructions and website. Will be staying again next year.

Thank you for your feedback, it is really appreciated as we are always looking for ways to improve our guests stay. We are really pleased to hear that the property exceeded your expectations and can only apologise that you brought with you items that were already in the property. We have now amended the details on the website to include these. We look forward to welcoming you back to The Station again soon. Property Owner

Lovely walks and swims. We spilt coffee and someone came out to clean the carpet promptly. Ps a light beige carpet is a spill disaster! A rug would help with that...

  • "The property was as described, spotlessly clean and tidy, well equipped and was everything any reasonable person could wish for."

The views were spectacular and the position, close to the coastal path and midway between Hope Cove and Soar Mill Cove, is a walkers dream. The local Co-op (garage and shop) is only about five minute drive away and carries just about everything you could want. On a quiet and almost car free single lane/road meant that our son could roam pretty much as he wanted without us worrying about traffic. If you're looking for a large and roomy property away from the hussle and bustle look no further. Room for at least three cars on the drive meant no car juggling in the mornings. Wi-Fi worked fine and mobile reception was rather good considering were it is. Only down side Kitchen a bit small, however all in all a great "upside down" property.

The stair carpet needs replacing too.

  • "We all love the house and layout."

At full capacity there would be no problem as the rooms are much bigger than we expected and as there ware only six of us there was more than enough space so we were not overcrowded and the two boys thought it was great that they had a bedroom each and only had to share one bathroom between them and the adults appreciated the en-suites. It was very well equipped, better than other places we have stayed at. Masses of chinaware so no problem of running out before the dishwasher finished. Loved the outside veranda to sit on and the views from all the windows. Every day we had a visit from the scruffiest sheep in the field next door who arrived in the back garden via the back end of the garage and left by leaping off the raised bank at the side. The position of the house is ideal with fantastic views all round. Kingsbridge is very convenient for topping up with groceries etc., being only a short distance away. There are many beautiful beaches to visit which was ideal for the younger people in our group while Nan and Grandad walked for miles along the gorgeous cliff tops.
