“Recommend the exceptional location of this property - stunning coastal walks straight from the door and love that a beautiful house like this is dog friendly with the contemporary decor kept spotlessly clean.”

Having the great restaurant a stone’s throw away was an added bonus. Really enjoyed our stay and will be recommending to others. The only thing I can think of to improve it would have been an added personal touch such as bottle of wine or scones and clotted cream etc on arrival as a few other places we’ve stayed at have done this and it’s a great touch. Otherwise can think of nothing else that could have improved our stay - it was a beautiful place and the setting has to be seen to be ...

The property

This wonderfully presented beach-house-style cottage with 180-degree coastal views, rests in Bolberry Down, near the village of Malborough.

The property is adjacent to the famous South West Coast path, which can be accessed within a minutes’ walk from the house. It boasts a fabulous position for couples, families and friends to relax and unwind amidst the sea air in a picturesque region of Devon. Step inside to a spacious hallway, which plays host to a spacious shower room with a rainfall shower and a utility room with a washer/dryer. The wooden floors sweeps through to the open plan living room, where you can lounge on the L-shape sofa and absorb the peaceful atmosphere surrounding you.

Open the patio doors to a sunny terrace, taking in the views across the sea and over to Burgh Island and Bigbury-on-Sea. The kitchen is well equipped, with state of the art appliances and a modern-style dining area. A carpeted staircase leads up to the bedrooms, the first offering a king-size oak framed bed and balcony from which to enjoy a glass of wine whilst taking in the sweeping views of the sea and Burgh Island. The second bedroom is also a king-size, with views of the sea, the open countryside and the National Trust's Bolberry Down. Making the most of the space upstairs are two wardrobes on the landing, one for each bedroom, ideal for keeping your belongings stowed away safely. There is also a bathroom taking centre stage on the first level, with a deep-soaking bathtub and a separate walk in shower with a stylish, gleaming white finish. Use the patio space for dining alfresco among friends, extending out over a grassy area, enjoying the quiet and peaceful surroundings. Nearby Malborough, offers a convenient village shop and two pubs to stop off at. Bolberry Down is owned by the National Trust and is home to a number of walks for all capabilities. Visit Soar Mill Cove and spoil yourselves with a plethora of wildlife and stunning views to admire with your loved ones. You may even be lucky enough to catch glimpses of seals fishing close to the shore, as you tuck into a picnic. The bustling sailing town of Salcombe is also close by, with many water sports for thrill seekers to enjoy. The waterfront town of Dartmouth is slightly further afield with a wide range of amenities for you to explore. Choose this as your next base for discovering a beautiful part of England.
