  • "A wonderful stay at the Orchard Hideaway."

A beautiful, quiet countryside setting with field views and varied birdsong. So good to get away from busy towns and cities, and reconnect with nature (including seeing stars at night). The cosy cabin was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. It was lovely to meet owners Rachel and Barry, and they provided a very warm welcome. Great communications from start to finish, nothing too much bother. The afternoon cream tea on arrival (and apple juice in the fridge) was a lovely touch. A clean and open space to chill out, relax, meditate or write your next book. Enjoyed some nice local walks, including to Cadbury Castle, and the nearby Thorverton village has two good pubs for meals and drinks. Would highly recommend this as a place to 'get away from it all'. Hope to return again one day.

  • "Hideaway Cabin exceeded our expectations; the location looking past the orchard across the valley was stunning."

It was a real treat to watch the sheep and cattle in the fields whilst enjoying the birdsong. The furnishings and fittings were well thought out and of good quality and we encountered no problems. The cabin was both comfortable and cosy. Our hosts Rachel and Barry were helpful and had provided us with a cream tea to enjoy upon arrival, we certainly intend to return!

It's in a beautiful location in the middle of nowhere, where I had time to relax and contemplate on life whilst being surrounded by nothing but beautiful scenery and the sound of singing birds. The cabin is warm, cosy and comfortable and has everything that is needed. The hosts are exceptionally hospitable and I look forward to returning as soon as possible.

  • "The cabin is absolute fantastic!"

Very well enquipped, clean and lovely situated with a beautiful view over the orchard and the green hills. Very quite, except for the birds. When we were there, we picked some fresh currants in the orchard. The hosts are unbelievable friendly. We even helped a bit with the sheep at the farm. Many good walks possible in nearby Dartmoor park.

  • "We had a very relaxing stay at the Hideaway Cabin."

It has been beautifully renovated with everything we needed. The location is ideal for a getaway with just sheep and cows for neighbours! There are lots of opportunities to go walking in the surrounding countryside and a variety of places to visit. The cabin is ideally situated between Exmoor and Dartmoor. We loved our stay and have booked to go back again later in the year.

  • "Beautiful location, unbeatable views and the perfect retreat for R&R."

The Hideaway Cabin is so cosy but still very spacious. Super comfortable double bed, lovely shower/bathroom and an adorable kitchen area to make breakfast, complete with table & chairs to sit at. Either inside looking at the views, or outside with nothing but nature around you! Absolutely recommend this place if you are feeling burnt out, need to get away from the busy city, or just prefer some peace and quiet. We spent all day playing guitar, writing songs and then stargazed at night, huddled in front of the fire pit, it was exactly what we needed and we will definitely be back! A huge thanks to Rachel & Barry for looking after us so well and ensuring everything was as perfect as can be! All their hard work really paid off and left us with a holiday we will remember forever!

  • "My partner and I stayed here for a long weekend and absolutely loved it."

The cabin itself is immaculate and cosy, staying warm even on colder nights. The finishing touches made us feel so at home. The scenery is beautiful and the surrounding towns and city has plenty to do, with Exmoor beach under an hour away. We really hope to come back in the future. Our only suggestion would be perhaps some light curtains to put over the main doors. And also be aware signal can be a little bit limited out there but it was perfect for us as we were looking for a switched off getaway. Thank you so much Rachel & Barry!

Quiet and peaceful and a clean, well finished cabin. The facilities are excellent and the owners are helpful and very friendly and accommodating. There are thousands of other places online but very few that have all the things the hideaway cabin has to offer. The local area is easily accessible with farm shops and pubs. A magical place to escape to.

Especially loved all the little touches left by the hosts. The only small issue would be the amount of time it takes for the heater to warm up the room especially in the mornings.
