  • "Overall the cottage was absolutely wonderful."

Clean and well kept. Beautiful position overlooking the quay with a patio you could sit on for hours watching the boating activities. The only downside to our few days staying at 26 Dart Marina was the scaffolding which had been erected just a few days before our stay. We had been advised of the scaffolding being erected, with very short notice and had a choice to either to continue our holiday or cancel, with a discount if we went or full cancellation costs if we didn't. We decided to continue with our short break, but the scaffolding was definitely detrimental to our stay. It would be nice to return next year ... without the scaffolding ... to enjoy the property to its full extent!

  • "The property is lovely, with its own parking, and a pleasant view, which was important with my elderly parents."

Unfortunately, we had an issue with maintenance & scaffolding which though planned had not been properly communicated. We ended up leaving early, but the landlord and agent did what they could, first to control the disruption while it was happening, and refunding the days we couldn't stay. Mistakes happen, and I think they remedied it as best they could. Apparently the scaffolding is a once every three years issue, and that I guess is why all the properties look so well cared for, it was just a shame it coincided with our stay. My preference would be for a larger corner sofa, or a second sofa, but each to his own. There is plenty of seating for the advertised number of people accommodated by the property. Anyway, reflecting both how lovely the house is when the scaffolding isn't there, and how fairly the matter was dealt with in the end, I will be booking again, and would not hesitate in recommending the property, the agent and the landlord to others.

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
