  • "The property was exceptional."

    It exceeded our expectations if I’m honest. The photos don’t do it justice, the views from the terrace were outstanding and we couldn’t get enough of sitting and watching the boats and Rockfish working day and night. The scenery was always on the move. The proximity to the shops and restaurants is great. The bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely and powerful. On arrival in the kitchen there was biscuits, all the cleaning equipment you could need and a milk in the fridge which was a nice touch. There are clear instructions about the waste and recycling collections but unfortunately the people that stayed the week before us missed the collection so our pigeon bag and recycling box was full for the week of our stay so just be aware that the collection is early Friday morning so waste must be put out on a Thursday at the latest. But I must say I was sad to leave and leave those views behind. A massive thank you goes out to the owners for letting out the property so we can experience what it has to offer. We will be back!

  • "Beautiful in every way."

    If you drive it’s really tricky to park, there are very few options. We found a carpark that was very cheap for the week but was a bit of a walk away.

Parking is street parking and can be busy at peak times, particularly over the August Bank Holiday with stunning weather as in your case. We always park outside the cottage to load and unload as there is very little traffic on North View Road. We then go on to find a space on North View Road or the road behind the cottage. In 50 years of owning Fishnets we have never had to find a car park and pay to park, so I’m certainly sorry that you found this the case. It was exceptional weather and bank holiday, so I’m sure Brixham was busy but buzzing and vibrant as a result. We hope to see you again soon! Property Owner

  • "The property isn’t dog friendly as there isn’t a garden and the front wasn’t secure."

    The stair rope wasn’t safe as it came out the wall the oven glove hook came out the wall and last weeks rubbish was still there, so we had nowhere to put ours. There is no storage for food in the kitchen so couldn’t do a decent shop.

    Dear Stuart, Thank you for your review of our pet friendly property. We do not list a garden as there isn’t one, however our dogs enjoy sitting for hours on the wonderful front terrace with us, but agree you wouldn’t want to leave dogs unattended there. You can also tie a dog to the railings on the terrace if you so wanted while you sat with them. As you know, there is a very small yard at back which is secure. I am so sorry you found the rope hand rail and oven glove hook loose, thank you for drawing it to our attention. We are addressing this immediately with our builder. I so am sorry you found some rubbish from the previous guests. The rubbish is collected by refuse early on a Friday morning. As your booking panned Saturday to Thursday, you may have found a day or two of rubbish left in the outside bin. I do apologise for this, we normally do Friday to Friday change overs hence the rubbish is cleared. Given your valuable feedback, we have immediately made arrangements for rubbish to be removed if a change overs fall as yours did. We do hope you still enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back again soon. I think you may have also benefited from some excellent weather during your stay at Fishnets? Property Owner

  • "We had an excellent stay at Fishnets."

    Excellent views of the Harbour and the front terrace gets the sun in the evening which is hard to find in the harbour. Easy to get every where if you don't mind steep hills or steps but that's the price you pay for the views. Really lovely cottage, very clean, very nicely finished and well equipped. Would highly recommend.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Fishnets."

    It was our first break away with our Labrador and we all had a great time. It was a lovely, clean and well maintained property. The location was perfect and the outside terrace really makes it stand out from the rest. We will definitely be booking Fishnets again when we return to Brixham in the future. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home. Wilson the Labrador had a wonderful time (especially the sausages at the local fish and chip shop!)

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
