Lizzy’s Cottage

The cottage is well presented and comfortable.

It provided all your needs Airfryer, oven, hob, fridge with sml freezer. With amazing views across the harbour. Sunsets everyday unreal out the front of cottage. Shops, eateries, pubs are all within walking distance. Alongside the fish market there is a resident seal we saw again from a few years ago. There are a lot of steps to get to and from them. Even if you walk the roads they are uphill so not for faint hearted. If your wanting a carvery roast dinner on Sunday book in advance. We ended up driving to Newton Abbot for a Toby Carvery. We went to the Sprat and Mackerel for Breakfast on last day the food was awful sausages hash browns burnt. We did walk some coastal paths whilst we stayed. We went to Berryhead which was a reasonable walk with a wonderful dog friendly cafe, we did Dartmouth Castle coastal path another day again not suitable for people with mobility problems. Then we walked from Brixham to Paignton which was a good walk. Lots of steps getting out of Brixham once you approach woodland its walkable our dog loved it. Dips in the sea on the coves, found herself a tennis ball and golf ball on route, we stopped for a brew in The Venus Cafe with public loo at Broadsands. This place was pleasant people doing watersports wind surfing lots of beach huts along the beach. Once we reached our destination, there were plenty of buses to hop onto back to Brixham. Lots of shops in Paignton had we arrived a bit earlier. Weather was brilliant, we had 1 grey day even that was dry. Every 3rd Wednesday if you are lucky to be in Brixham Rockfish at the fish market does some amazing priced fish and chips. There was a huge queue we asked locals what was going on. We joined the queue and sat at the harbour enjoying them in fresh air. Parking outside far too narrow and people had cars damaged, there is parking around the road but if you go out for day prepare for a search for a new spot. Although its completely free to park, its very busy. All in all a good time had with plenty, 4 stars just for the access really.

The property is in a great location and is beautifully decorated and well kept.

We had a wonderful week there and we were very comfortable. The different levels of gardens were lovely and we saw some amazing sunsets from the top one. The house was well equipped and clean and felt very homely. We had all the information we needed for an easy stay. We would love to visit Brixham again.

Location was superb - close to amenities and lovely pubs and restaurants.

Would definitely recommend staying here.
